YechielMan's RFA
[edit]Thank you for participating in either of my unsuccessful requests for adminship. Although the experience was frustrating, it showed me some mistakes I was making, and I hope to learn from those mistakes.
Please take a few minutes to read User:YechielMan/Other stuff/RFA review and advise me how to proceed. Best regards. YechielMan 22:03, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Just dropping by to say "thank you" for supporting me in my recent my RfA. I passed the vote, and am now an admin. It will take me some getting used to with the new tools, but I thank you again for the trust. Have a good one, and, as always, happy editing! Jmlk17 05:17, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
My RfA
[edit]Dear Captain panda, thanks for your support in my recent RfA, it was, however, unsuccessful. I am not the type of editor to be disheartened by such a result, and have gained much experience. If you have anything to contribute by way of improvements or comments, please don’t hesitate to tell me.
I will run again. Until then, Cheers, Dfrg.msc 08:33, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Comments at Wikipedia_talk:Requests_for_adminship
[edit]Well said sir. Not because you were agreeing with me (if indeed you were) but that editors applying at RfA are not "laughed off" but encouraged in their work. That's a really good viewpoint, one I will ensure I adopt as well. Best Wishes. Pedro | Chat 09:18, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
RFA Try?
[edit]We havent directly encountered each other before, but I have seen you around, and, after reviewing your contributions, I think you could be ready for a shot at the tools in a month or two, assuming you want to give it a shot and take on the responsibilities. You have a good amount of contributions across the namespaces, and I think you understand the policies. With maybe a few more edits (maybe... 4000? [not to be an editcounter, just trying to help combat those who do edit count]) I think you have a very good chance at the mop. Get back to me with your thoughts. Thanks, -- Anonymous DissidentTalk -- (dated 11:26, 17 June 2007 UTC)

Remove item
[edit]Hi! Before I figured out how to start a page I uploaded following file "A.W.H.pdf". However, since then I have managed to do the page I wanted to in the first place and the info in the "pdf" is thus obsolete.
Please help me delete the file referred to.
Thanks & Regards
P.S. - A note showing me how you do it or a pointer to the appropriate reference would be appreciated and useful for future reference.

[edit]Thank you very much for supporting my RfA, which closed successfully yesterday... W00t! I hope to be a great admin (and editor) and I'm sure you can tell that my use of a large, boldfaced, capital "T" and a big checkmark image in this generic "thank you" template that I swiped from some other user's Talk Page that I totally mean business! If you need anything in the future or if you see that I've done something incorrectly, please come to my Talk Page and let me know. So now I've got a bunch of reading to do.... see you around! - eo 13:41, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Bartolomeo Cristofori
[edit]Kindly revisit Bartolomeo Cristofori, which you recently rated without commenting, and leave suggestions for improvement. In making your comments, please refer to the Wikipedia guidelines, which for a "B" article state that one or more of the following is wrong:
- "it has significant gaps or missing elements or references, needs substantial editing for English language usage and/or clarity, balance of content, or contains other policy problems such as copyright, Neutral Point Of View (NPOV) or No Original Research (NOR)."
Since you didn't give the article an A, it must be that it falls short on one or more of these points, and it would be helpful to me and to other editors to know which one, and how.
Sincerely, Opus33 23:39, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- <CP replied on O33's user page>
Thank you for the clarification. For what it's worth, it's apparently legal for you to give out A's without the article reaching Good Article or Feature Article status (both of them are programs in which I'm reluctant to participate, based on unhappy previous experience). However, it's really all the same to me if the article has a B on it; my main concern is with commentless evaluations, which you have addressed. Sincerely, Opus33 00:26, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you

Hi Captain panda, It still amazes me that otherwise "anonymous" editors take the time to place !votes and comments on RfAs. Whilst I would have normally thanked you at the time of you leaving your message, the importance of my not appearing to be canvassing prevented me from so doing. Now that everything has progressed successfully I can finally thank you. I intend to uphold a style of good adminship and will welcome your further comments at any time in the future, even if they are in the form of admonishment. I will be happy to help as an admin wherever and whenever I can --VS talk 22:56, 27 June 2007 (UTC) |

[edit]No, this message is not me being an admin and want to thank you. In fact, I want to nominate you as an admin. You seem to know pretty well about Wikipedia even though you're new to here (in a sense). I, personally, like to ask for your permission to nominate you as admin prior to listing it. So will you give me permission to nominate you? OhanaUnitedTalk page 12:02, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Done. Please accept the nomination (officially) at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Captain panda. I wish you luck. OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:59, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! My recent RfB
[edit]Thank you so much for your participation in my recent RfB. Though it closed with 72% support (below the required 90%), I'm still quite pleased at the outpouring of support shown by a fair percentage of the community.
I'm currently tabulating and calculating all opposing and neutral arguments to help me better address the community's concerns about my abilities as a bureaucrat. You just marked this new article as a stub. The classsification for a stub is: "The article is either a very short article or a rough collection of information that will need much work to bring it to A-Class level. It is usually very short, but can be of any length if the material is irrelevant or incomprehensible." Since it wasn't a "short" article, is there something about the article that is either a "rough collection of information" or "irrelevant" or "incomprehensible". Just curious, I can try to improve the article but I am not sure where to turn. FWIW Bzuk 06:21, 5 July 2007 (UTC).

- Thats an excellent attitude and outlook on your RFA in the event that it should fail. I'm sure that, if you do address the concerns of the opposers (most of which seem to be your lack of a great deal of mainspace contributions), you will pass a future RFA with flying colours. Capt'n, there is a newbie editor that has insisted that the flight of the Spirit of St. Louis was the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic and has constantly reverted the article to eliminate the word "solo". He has not responded to the discussion page or to the note left on his "talk" page. These are his only contributions to Wiki articles and he continues to make spurious claims, see: [1] He will not stop the reverting although he has been politely informed that constant reversions without explanation on the discussion page is not considered appropriate. Asking for help here. Thanks Bzuk 13:40, 12 July 2007 (UTC).

Hi Cpt. Panda, I just noticed that you tagged Clara the rhinoceros as part of WikiProject Biography. I thought (from reading the WP:WPBIO scope) that this project only really applied to humans, leaving rhinos (and even pandas, I fear) to fend for themselves. Not complaining, just checking in case you meant to tag a different Clara. --JayHenry 04:37, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Sikyos, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Sikyos satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sikyos and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
