Doug Berry

[edit]

I read an article, probably in the Winnipeg Free Press, that he was buying a house in Winnipeg. Not sure if he is keeping his place in Amherst too. That was why I was not sure about him still living in Amherst. Qutezuce 00:01, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After a little digging I found what I had read. This artcle says that Berry's daughters are now in university. This article says they are considering selling their house and buying one in Winnipeg. This article says that he has sold his house. This article says that he was to have spent about a week looking for a house in Winnipeg back in January. Qutezuce 00:18, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Starting articles

[edit]

When you start an article you should at least put in a few sentences, rather than just a picture, because otherwise the article could get speedily deleted in accordance with Wikipedia rules. Qutezuce 00:26, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

The images that you uploaded will probably get deleted in a week if you don't provide suitable copyright information so that Wikipedia can legally include the images. Qutezuce 06:12, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Grey Cup article states that the 47th Grey Cup was played in 1959, but the contents of the 47th Grey Cup article seem to be refering to the 1958 Grey Cup. Was this just an oversight on your part? If so I'll get an admin to move the page. Qutezuce 05:35, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Little context in SkyNorth Air

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on SkyNorth Air, by Eliz81, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because SkyNorth Air is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting SkyNorth Air, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate SkyNorth Air itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:42, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing the speedy deletion tag on Skynorth Air, which is not allowed by the page's creator. If you wish to contest the deletion, use the {{hangon}} function instead. Eliz81 19:11, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Nuclear Blast Out of the Dark.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello CaptHowdy! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 50 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Denice Duff - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Trevor Kennerd - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wikipedia 15 in Winnipeg

Wikipedia is celebrating its 15th birthday on January 15, 2016. I have thought for a while that it would be neat to meet some local wikipedians. According to the wikipedians in Winnipeg or Wikipedians in Manitoba category you are one of us. I am contacting people in this category to say: Let's celebrate this milestone. If you know other wikipedians, please ask them to join in as well.

I am posting this to your talk page as a transclude so that any updates will show up automatically.

Hope to see you there! Tenbergen (talk) 04:46, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

One other Winnipeg Wikipedian showed up, in addition to a number of regular skullspace members. It was nice to actually talk to someone else who has worked with Mediawiki and actually "gets" transclusion. Cake was eaten! Tenbergen (talk) 06:37, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Aw, apparently I haven't logged in to Wikipedia in over 6 years and I totally missed this message and the event! I guessed I missed any 20 year celebration, too. Let me know if you end up doing a 25 year one. :) Clayton Rumley (talk) 22:52, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
