Question from Merry2198 (15:47, 5 August 2024)
Hi, I have a blogging website and I want to connect it with wikipedia. Can i do it? --Merry2198 (talk) 15:47, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Merry2198 if by 'connect' you mean adding a link to a Wikipedia page, absolutely! But if you mean connecting by writing an article about your blog, please see Help:Your first article and understand why that's probably not a great idea. Question from Stuka535 on Sony PVM-4300 (21:53, 5 August 2024)
Hello again Could you help me to create this page?? --Stuka535 (talk) 21:53, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Stuka535 are you asking if I could write the article? Sorry, but as I have no knowledge nor interest in CRT monitors, I cannot write the article. Is there anything specific you need help with? User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 00:48, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- İ need help with creating parts of the page Stuka535 (talk) 19:51, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Stuka535 Do you mean sections?, If yes then here's how you can make different sections. The same thing that I asked to CanonNi and he explained me in a simple way.
- == Example ==
- By the use of two equal to signs, you can easily make up sections. Basically, it's used for Reference and External links. Regards, Ved Sharma Kharavela Deva (talk) 14:24, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

Hello! I would like to edit an article and would also like to supply my own picture but as I am now I am unsure of how to do this. I am using mobile. Thank you. --Lamanopeluda (talk) 18:43, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Lamanopeluda Firstly, make sure the image is "free". Then, follow the directions at Help:Creation and usage of media files, and feel free to ask if you have any more questions. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 00:50, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from M.A. Carlebach on Michael Carlebach (21:54, 10 August 2024)
I am trying to edit my husband's bio page with his death date and some brief biographical edits. I haven't hit "publish" yet because I don't think I formatted the footnote/references properly. --M.A. Carlebach (talk) 21:54, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
- @M.A. Carlebach Sorry for your loss. To format references properly, follow the directions at Help:Referencing for beginners, or you can just give me links to the sources here, and I'll add them for you. Also, please note that as you have a personal connection with him, you are strongly discouraged from directly editing the article. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 00:53, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, rather than edit it myself, I'll forward the references here. Or there is also the option that I can ask a professor in the field of journalism to write something on the significance of Michael's first history of photojournalism, "The Origins of Photojournalism in America" which he was too modest to do himself. I can also provide images of his photographs or from his books.
- Here (attached below) is the (not very well-written) obit from the Miami Herald, and a better, more detailed one from the University of Miami newspaper. I have copies of book reviews which I scanned but am unable to attach here. Let me know if I can send them another way. The reviews are from: Publishers Weekly (14 Sept,1992), Journalism Quarterly (Summer, 1993), News Photographer (vol. 49, no.7,July, 1994. 12), The Los Angeles Times (25 Oct, 1992), Brown Alumni Monthly) (n.d.).
- In addition to the addition of his death date and some minor corrections on his resume, this is what I proposed to add in the edit:
- As a historian Carlebach's book, The Origins of Photojournalism in America, was considered seminal as one of the first histories on the earliest years of news photography in the U.S. It became a standard text in the field. Carlebach argued that periodical publications in the United States began supplementing print journalism with photographs by converting them to engravings or woodcuts long before the half-tone printing process was invented which allowed the mass reproduction of photographs.

Question from CalmonTellechea (20:49, 13 August 2024)
Greetings! I just recreated the Funeral doom article. Would like some tips to improve it. Thanks. CalmonTellechea (talk) 20:49, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- @CalmonTellechea the article looks pretty good. I've fixed some formatting issues and removed the tag as there seems to be enough sources. Is there anything specific you need help with? User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 01:46, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- Great! Yes, there are some other issues you can help me. Two questions:
- I've put the obligatory "Start class" on the assessment scale of the article's talk page. Do you think it fares better now? Maybe a C or a B?
- There's also an old discussion about the article being nominated for deletion. Now that it's fully sourced and readable, what to do with the message?
- Thanks again. CalmonTellechea (talk) 11:44, 16 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Akaayu (15 August 2024)
Greetings!I created draft on Army Law College but it has been rejected from article creation can you elaborate what is wrong in the draft and suggest changes. Akaayu (talk) 09:08, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Akaayu I declined (not rejected) the draft because the references are not reliable nor formatted properly. See Help:Referencing for beginners if you need help. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 01:43, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
Question from Factsnfigurestoo (17:13, 23 August 2024)
Hi CanonNi. Thank you any and all advice, etc! Although I'm new to Wikipedia editing, I've read many, many articles and I'm an expert in my scientific field. I've just drafted a new article about Paul Sniegowski, who recently became the President of Earlham College. I think my article fulfills everything expected of a biography of a living person. One thing that I could use help on is how to add the box that gives information about a scholar (education, positions, mentors, and the like), typically seen on the right of the entry. Thanks again! --Factsnfigurestoo (talk) 17:13, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
- First article approved, and someone already added the infobox to it. So I'm all set now. Factsnfigurestoo (talk) 10:22, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Factsnfigurestoo sorry for the late reply, but congrats on your first article! It looks good, but one thing you can improve are its categories, by adding it to more specific ones. For example, Category:Biologists is used right now, but the draft should be in one of the more specific subcategories, such as Category:21st-century American biologists or Category:American geneticists. Since I'm not familiar with biology, I'll leave the categorizing work to you (a tool I'd recommend would be HotCat). Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions. - Thanks! Factsnfigurestoo (talk) 14:03, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- Just submitted my second article, also a biography in my area of expertise. This one is Draft:Jeffrey Barrick. Again, many internal links to Wikipedia entries as well as external references to verify factual statements. I'll update the categories once the article is approved. (Seems like categories can't be added until then, except for automated ones labeled draft, pending, AfC, and the like.) Factsnfigurestoo (talk) 01:53, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Factsnfigurestoo the draft was declined by a reviewer. No worries, it can still be improved. Please follow the feedback they gave, and feel free to ask at the AfC help desk if you need help. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 02:58, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
