I am new here and apologize for any unintentional errors in adhering to editorial guidelines throughout the learning process. I intend to contribute in good faith, particularly to ensure guidelines are followed, information is not censored, and that articles are factual and have been contributed to in an ethical manner.
My ethos: BA, Psychology (Major), Philosophy (Minor); BSc, Biological Sciences; PgDipSci (Distinction), Biological Sciences. I am a resident of New Zealand and obtained my qualifications from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch. I have strong interests in the following subjects: applied ethics, bioethics, philosophy of science, social psychology, clinical psychology, biomedical science, pharmacology, biochemistry, research methodology, cellular & molecular biology, animal welfare science, human and other animal rights, to name but a few. I suffer from, and have been diagnosed with, Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder. Please try to be patient with me, and understand that a core part of this condition is an impaired ability to inhibit the expression of my thoughts. To put this another way, the distance between my mind and my mouth is either very short or non-existent, compared to the typical person. If I offend you as a result of this, I apologize in advance. Please attempt to engage in polite dialogue with me if this happens to occur and I will do my absolute best to act in good faith when responding to you, as well as when contributing to or editing articles.
I chose this username because I strongly relate to the behavioural tendencies of the arctic wolf (Canis lupus arctos), as described on the associated Wikipedia article. The intentional misspelling intends to indicate that I am greatly similar, but not identical to, this particular sub-species. E.g. I am unafraid of human beings, remain fastidiously inquisitive in spite of risking harm to myself, move predominantly under periods of complete darkness, under extreme environmental conditions, and displaying a preference for solitude, contributing to peoples difficulty in understanding my behavioural patterns. Preferentially preying on those that are of substantially greater size than myself. Yet my diet almost solely consists of plants. I am a very big 'dog person', encouraging the adoption of neglected and/or abandoned dogs versus supporting the breeding industry. Having adopted more than one rescue dog in my lifetime I am starkly aware of the negative impact that animal husbandry practices have on the welfare of animals in general. I was born and raised in a rural area known for its extensive animal agriculture, and have first hand experience from a very young age with a variety of the species routinely exploited by that industry. I am highly critical of those that incorrectly refer to the assigning of traits to non-human species, which are not isolated to humans, as anthropomorphism. E.g. the capacity to suffer, or being bipedal (walking on two legs, as opposed to four). I have been threatened with editorial bans for correcting such obvious errors as these on Wikipedia articles, such as the animal husbandry page. Like the Arctic Wolf, I am not fearful of such threats from humans. ;)
