[edit]Hello, I'm Cassiopeia. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Cando, North Dakota, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Cassiopeia talk 04:09, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Cando, North Dakota, you may be blocked from editing. Cassiopeia talk 21:16, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Ndawn you have to physically go into archives and take the numbers out Cando1889 (talk) 05:02, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
So can I post my temperature records again I am using sources from other sites on internet Cando1889 (talk) 05:29, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Cando1889, Pls note that you need to provide independent, reliable source (inline citation) to support your claim. If you can find it then you can put the data on the article as per source. You can use the horizontal format of Template:Citeweb if the source is from the internet. Cassiopeia talk 08:19, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- Okay my two main sources is weather base and intellicast
Weather base is still on the internet But intellicast was taking over by weather underground and they deleted most of Cando’s archived temperatures and the one they have now are from devils lake air port 30- 40 miles away But I had screen shot th red intellicast archives so I suppose that is no longer a valid source Cando1889 (talk) 17:27, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- Screen shot is not a valid source. Cassiopeia talk 22:22, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

I do have a question ndawn is a the North Dakota state university run weather site It has a archive cando has records on there going back to 1994 The site has verified equipment If they had a malifunction on a certain day they put a E for estimate otherwise it is verified They have recent years not covered by weatherbase They have to high records one in February one September They have one low record for April These three are not estimates How do you go about adding yet keeping it in the guidelines Do you add this to the list and then highlight them and then add a short line below saying from were or how do you go about it Cando1889 (talk) 16:50, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
The reason is I am passionate about cando and it always frustrated me that Bottineau and Langdon had complete accurate temperature records but cando never did and I want to get them as complete and accurate as possible Cando1889 (talk) 17:17, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Cando1889, Before I answer you questions, let me give you some basic Wikipedia guidelines. The core policy of Wikipedia is info added or changed needs to be verified by independent, reliable sources, such as from major newspapers or books. (Reliable means the sources is reputable and fact checking of the info). In general all gov, universities sources are considered not reliable so are all the social media sites as not fact checking is in place. However, to say that we can use self source for that subject sparingly if the info is "only" directly about the subject but with only self source only the article is considered not notable.
- So to answer you questions, we can added then average (doing the maths ourselves from the sources) to add/change the content the article as we, you and I and the rest of the editors in the Wikipedia are anonymous for such we are all considered not reliable). One thing to note, if the reliable published some info which is inaccurate/error, we will "still" use the source for the info until there is another independent, reliable source (IRS) would be found to change/correct the info. Example such as, if an IRS state a subject has 3 sons but in reality the subject has 4 sons, we will still put 3 sons on the article until an IRS states he has 4 sons. Pls read WP:But it's true!. I suggest you to participate the WP:TWA program, so you may understand the basic, yet important guidelines on editing Wikipedia, such will be a great help to you. Let me know if you need further assistance. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 22:50, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
