Welcome from Redwolf24

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

P.S. I like messages :-P

Hi, we have started WP:Plan9 to fix up the Wikipedia mess for Plan 9-related articles. Hope to see you joining in. ems 13:12, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unix diagram

[edit]

I would like to access the dot source of your Unix genealogy so I can convert it to SVG format, but your server stalls after sending the first 1665 bytes. Could you provide the source some other way (e.g. paste it inline into my user page)? Thanks! EdC 04:27, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unix diagram missing key OS's

[edit]

As mentioned on Image talk:Unix history-simple.svg the Unix diagram is missing several key OS's, mainly Mac OS X (which is almost certainly the Unix-like/Unix OS with the highest market share, and certainly the highest mind-share) but also IBM's AIX and HP's HP/UX. These all really need adding to the diagram, especially as this means only 1 of the 4 official Unix OS's are on the diagram.

It also looks like the diagram could do with a tidy, and some clarification to show whether the OS's are commercial or not so I'd like to redo it with that information on it. Eraserhead1 (talk) 13:08, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
