My biography
[edit]what is the exact process that one would have to do to search for my biography because I tried to do it and it did not come up to my page contrary to what you stated. Sir, I asure that Im not placing my biography as a blog or for any social measures. There are biographies of other persons and also incredulous topics such as "hustlin", "grill"( gold teeth), and "pimpin" which I find more offensive and useless than my biography being added as an article.
Thank you for you time and consideration,
Jasmine Laster
Why not?
[edit]Why can't I link to my website? Doesn't it add to the usefulness of Wikipedia?
My website isn't commercial although it has ads. I think the content on my website is useful enough to Buffy fans that a link to each episode from each WikiPedia episode makes sense.
Other people have clearly done the same thing. If I wasn't doing it in a repetitive way, would you even have noticed?
OK, so your policy is delete first, ask later?
[edit]Some questions:
- Some of the links to my site are still there. Aren't you going to delete them all? What exactly is your policy? All episode pages on my site are of equal value.
- Yes, I posted some incorrect links. It's a very boring process and I got distracted. I was just fixing them up when you deleted them all
- Did you really think I was a bot? I could write a bot, but I knew that was wrong so I did it by hand
- Say I do get the approval of the Buffy Wikipedia people, Sara Michelle Gellar and Jim himself. I would still have to repetitively add links from the same IP address, in which case some other person will probably still get all snotty with me like you just did. What's the best way to add 144 links to 144 pages in Wikipedia without getting slapped?
- The copyright of the transcripts is my issue, not Wikipedia's. Which is why it's better to be linked to but not online here. Or are you saying if I hadn't advertised the presence of transcripts, would that have been better?
Slipknot - Bands They are compared to
[edit]Hey, I think that you are right about deleting that section (I would NEVER compare Slipknot to Queen, they are completely different). I added a sentence that says that Slipknot can be compared to Slayer and KoRn. Thanks EmoHippy123 23:49, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
reply: Last Supper
[edit]Hello. The old version of Last Supper you linked to, ([[1]]) was used as the initial version of The Last Supper ([[2]], so there is no information that will be lost. I will take care of any double redirects, but if I understand correctly single redirects are not considered a problem. S Sepp 00:01, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- The first revision, which I linked to, was nontrivial and is not used as the initial version of The Last Supper. I'm going to ask on Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Ardric47 00:08, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

re: Your Deletion of "Ho'od Win?"
[edit]Dear Sir,
That was an awfully Speedy Deletion...like about 30 seconds. I didn't even have the opportunity to present my discussion before you decided you didn't like it. Because one may not be familiar with a certain subject matter, is not just cause to dismiss it forthright. A bit unfair?
Hello,
Could you please look over the 24-hour block given to User:HOTR for an alleged 3RR violation. I think the rule may have been misapplied in this instance; I don't want to remove the block myself, as I'm a participant in the discussion. CJCurrie 22:20, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi CBW. Article John Mateer, which I created, was yesterday overwritten by some vanity garbage, marked for speedy deletion, and deleted by your good self. I'm assuming an error on your part (easy enough to make) in not checking the article history, and am going to undelete and revert to my earlier version. If you object to this, re-delete and I'll take it to Wikipedia:Deletion review. Snottygobble 12:09, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Barney and Friends kids
[edit]Hi, CambridgeBay. I don't know whether creating redirects would be the best solution, as the names would show up as blue links on Barney & Friends cast, which may give the false impression that they lead to articles rather than redirect pages. You could always keep the deleted pages on your watchlist and speedy them under CSD G4 if necessary. Thanks, Sango123 17:26, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Catskill Mountain Railroad
[edit]About that redirect page that looks good. Listen carefully : the Catskill Mountain Railroad wasn't another name for the Ulster and Delaware Railroad, nor was it a predecessor of it. It was a narrow-gauge railroad that went from Catskill Landing, New York, to Cairo, New York, and Palenville, New York. The Ulster & Delaware never went to either of those places. Therefore, I have put the redirect page up for deletion. Kschwerdt514 03:12, 12 June, 2006 (UTC)

Speedy delete notice on Kaveh Farman-Farmaian
[edit]Yeah, the article is up for AfD, but that's really no reason to remove the speedy deletion tag -- after all, the article does obviously meet the criteria for speedy deletion. Just because it's on AfD doesn't mean that it can't be speedily deleted (as evidenced by all the articles that get speedily deleted during the AfD process). Accordingly, I'm putting the tag back in. There's nothing to be gained by waiting the extra days. -- Captain Disdain 20:17, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, noticed you were around, I wondered if you could do a favour. For ages BAA has been a dismbig page as there are a number of terms it can refer to. In the last hour User:VodkaJazz moved it to BAA (disambiguation) and made BAA and redirect to BAA plc... Without any discussion.
Can you move things back to how they were please?
Thanks/L/wangi 18:23, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for that, appreciated/wangi 18:39, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Courtesty copy:
Before asking fellow editors to revert redirection changes (a tenuous tasks sometimes), you should substantiate your claims. As you can see from the categorized what links here entries below, BAA plc is the predominant meaning given in Wikipedia. While Google may give more meanings to BAA, it is still the top entry. BAA plc is the only non-stub article, it refers to a multi-national company worth billions to which current affairs are many times related. BAA is also its symbol on the LSE.

Irrelevant
[edit]- User talk:CambridgeBayWeather

- User:Vansig/24sable
- User talk:Analogdemon
- Baa (redirect page)
- Wikipedia:TLAs from AAA to DZZ
- List of acronyms and initialisms: B
- Wikipedia:Links to disambiguating pages (B)
In addition:
- baa (as in bleat) should not be on the disambiguation page of an acronym (so that's another two which could be striked off)
- Bachelor of Applied Arts is a stub, and not even mentioned as an Academic degree
- British Astronomical Association is a stub
- Baa Atoll, same as baa
- Basketball Association of America simply redirects to NBA
- Boston Athletic Association is a stub and its only importance lies in the Boston Marathon (i.e. people search that not BAA)
- Broad Agency Association does not even have an article
Therefore, it is my strong convintion that BAA should redirect to BAA plc, which represents the primary topic, and supply a link to the disambiguation page, as per WP:D.

Second War (Harry Potter)
[edit]Why did you delete the Second War (Harry Potter) article? The article decribes important events in the Potter series that will become more important with the release of book seven. While the imformation can be found on seperate articles, a seperate article to distingish both the First and Second War in the series seems appropriate. Also the article is linked to several other Potter articles that now have dead links.
Anyway, User:Fbv65edel has the article preserved here. Consider reverting it back.
No problem. As he also vandalized other pages, it is fine if you apply a 24 hour block. Titoxd(?!?) 07:47, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Re: Darod
[edit]I'm almost positive they are the same people (especially Siad Barre). I haven't compared the edits but I'm guessing he made a cut-and-paste edit of the text only, instead of the code, and lost the mark-up in the process. Speaking of clan-related articles, another edit I've been seeing is the addition of Ahmad ibn Ibrihim al-Ghazi, or Ahmed Gurey, to almost every single clan. I haven't been as active on Wikipedia as I used to be, the day job finally got more busy... -- Gyrofrog (talk) 12:23, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Voxxers Page
[edit]Dear CambridgeBayWeather,
I do not understsand your fascination with the Voxxers page and its format. I did not LINKSPAM the pages. The purpose of that particular section IS to identify these online personalities via their current web presence. If the links are removed, the purpose of the section is then not served.
Also, this section will grow and I do not see how each person's short description warrants its own section and a second tier link on the CONTENTS box.
Other first tier contents will be added in the future.
Please explain to me why you have taken on as your mission to edit this page.
Thanks.

[edit]Man! I can't belive u! Why did u delete my article? I worked hard on that and i just want to know why my work was thrown in the virtual trash can.
The title was Clay Dial.
Thanks
[edit]Me, a vandal? Hmm...
I'll try to log in every time now.
For the Voxxers page, I appreciated your time and effort in tidying and formatting it. It looks exactly like how I would have liked it to look. As to whether the rest of the people are notable, it is definitely open to debate. Plenty of them will have enough of a story to tell to make them the true pioneers of the Internet Era. I am slowly adding more and also hoping that they themselves will offer more detailed updates (and reminiscences.)
I wished to present the MindVox users as a whole -- not just a few personalities, but to somehow record a time that was called the Golden Age of BBS that is a bit more intimate than the articles about MindVox itself.
Thanks again for the work.

reply about voxxers
[edit]I was replying to Fairrosa, sorry should have made that clearer. You're the one cleaning it up I think. I could give it a try and add a paragraph or two or rewrite the first two, but I'm not sure it's going to be around for more than a few days... There were a lot of notable Voxxers, but most of them seem to have their own pages. I dunno. Hello! TrancedOut 23:49, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, just read it. They seem like a nice person. I will try to re write the first paragraph or two, please change as you see fit and I guess we can go from there. I don't want to take an hour writing a lot and looking up refs for something that's going to be deleted though. I've looked through lists of names on Wikipedia just now, there are lists of names, but they're all "notable". The notable thing is the kicker. Out of those people she lists, "Tomwhore" already has an article and was mentioned in a media piece about MindVox at some point, so was Voidmstr. I think it's a reasonable article, just not sure how to procced. TrancedOut 00:05, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Speedy delete image
[edit]While you are taking out our trash, so to speak, can you go ahead and delete the Family Dollar image in the speedy cat. I took it earlier today and uploaded it just now, but I find it to be ugly and unhelpful, plus since it is an upclose photo of a logo, I'm not sure if I can release it to the public domain or if it has to be fair use. Anyhow, I'm going to get a photo of a store tomorrow and make it a better article all together. Long story short, its a crappy, unhelpful photo that might is more trouble than its worth. Hi there!
While I appreciate your quick and noble editing -
We are in the process of enobling a large family that includes both Alexander Kipnis (Bass Opera Singer for the Metropolitan Opera, etc) and Igor Kipnis (his son and world reknowned HARPSICHORDIST.
I myself am the third in this particular creative line - as son of Igor.
As a linguist and record producer, It is clear that Wikipedia has a precise duty towards slang as well as facts and established definitions.
Therefore, I kindly request you reinstate all of my new entries, at least until I can finish establishing new rules for mannerisms and commonisms- something sadly lacking from your otherwise complete site. Many Thanks!!!
Cheers -

Speedy deletion criteria
[edit]I would appreciate clarification on the speedy deletion criteria, since I am clearly misunderstanding how the letter of the law meets with your interpretation of the spirit of the law. As it is written now, non-notable subjects are listed under the non-criteria section on the criteria for speedy deletion page. I am confused as to how a group such as Overboard, which is making significant contributions at bringing a cappella music to new communities throughout New England and into community centers and schools in impoverished communities does not meet your criteria for notability, or how you could have possibly known their significance without allowing me the opportunity to fully explicate that significance or allowing others the opportunity to expand on my own admittedly limited knowledge of their contribution.
The debate over what qualifies as non-notable notwithstanding, if your claim is that my contribution lacked information as to the unique significance of the a cappella group Overboard, then perhaps you should allow me to edit and repost the article in an effort to articulate that significance, rather than chastising me for reposting and directing me to the seemingly ambiguous notability page. Or, if, perhaps, you take issue with the fact that I am the only poster of information about this group, perhaps it would have been prudent to flag my article for proposed deletion and leave it for the period of five days, as is, to the best of my understanding, the policy for things not under the criteria for speedy deletion which, I believe, include only nonsense and vandalism.
Hey there. I noticed that SUMpTHY created a page about me, I just wanted to apologise for any inconvenience it caused you. If it is anyway possible, could you put what the article on my talk page? After I saw it I would promply delete it. If there is any specific page I should request such things on please direct me to it. Yours, Philip Gronowski Contribs 20:01, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
The West County Crips
[edit]The West County Crips is a 'real gang' in Mount Druitt, Sydney, NSW, Australia so I don't see why you deleted that article. I put a lot of effort making research on the gang and writing the article which is entirely truthful so I think next time I make that article it should not be deleted. The current 'Crips' article is about the Crips in general but the West County Crips is a small franchise of it and I don't see why it should have been deleted.
