Speedy deletion nomination of Portal:Archipelago MUD
[edit]A tag has been placed on Portal:Archipelago MUD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section P2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a portal based on a topic for which there is no non-stub header article, and there are not at least three non-stub articles detailing subject matter that would be appropriate to discuss under the title of that portal.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - That's the "official" notification message, but I don't think it's very clear! The idea is that a Wikipedia portal should introduce a wide topic area covered by dozens or even hundreds of Wikipedia articles - Portal:Technology or Portal:Cornwall are typical examples. But "Archipelago MUD" doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere in the encyclopedia. -- John of Reading (talk) 11:27, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
