Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Arlene Goldbard, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 13:48, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While Wikilinks (internal) can be useful for readers to find related information, it is strongly discouraged to add external links within the body of an article. More information is available at WP:ELNO. Thank you. signed, Willondon (talk) 14:04, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Policies, Guidelines and Conventions

[edit]

I recognize your potential as a valuable contributor to Wikipedia, but so far many of your edits go against the policies, guidelines and conventions here. So unfortunately, I've reverted them again. This often comes from a misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is meant to be, and how crowd-sourcing works with policies, guidelines and conventions to build the project. Please be patient as you learn the ropes.

  • Wikipedia is not meant to be a directory of links to other resources; see Wikipedia is not a directory
  • Wikipedia relies heavily on secondary sources, sources removed from the topic of the article. This is not only for verification, but also to establish what is notable, i.e. an outside reliable source has written about something because they thought it noteworthy.
  • External links provided as references are used almost exclusively to support statements, not merely to point to the location of something mentioned in the article. Notability is not established by mere existence, rather by a removed source having commented on it.
  • Templates that appear at the top of an article to indicate problems that need to be addressed, such as {{COI}} and {{BLP primary sources}}, should not be removed as here [1] unless the issue has been taken care of, or there's a compelling argument that the article does not suffer those deficiencies.

I wish you best of luck, if you have the patience to bear with the many traditions and policies that make up Wikipedia. There are many, many editors here that can help you. The Teahouse is a common place to get questions answered, or you can post a message on my talk page if you like. Cheers. signed, Willondon (talk) 21:05, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tom Angotti requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.newvillagepress.org/team/tom-angotti/ and https://www.hunterurban.org/faculty/tom-angotti. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Tom Angotti

[edit]

Hello Caitlincusack,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Tom Angotti for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
