Overlinking
[edit]Per WP:OVERLINK we do not repeat links multiple times in one article. Neither do we normally link dates. Let me know if I can help you. --John (talk) 15:08, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- Why are you remiving the links I put to birth and death categories? Surely it is a logical place to put them rather than stuffed somewhere at the bottom.

- Read the link I sent you on linking. You might also look at WP:MOSDATE if you want more detail on this. Best wishes, --John (talk) 15:31, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
The link you sent me says:
Repeated links
In general, link only the first occurrence of an item. This is a rule of thumb that has many exceptions, including the following:
- where a later occurrence of an item is a long way from the first.
- where the first link was in an infobox or a navbox, or some similar meta-content.
This would appear to support what I have done seem as the other link was at the other end of the page. Cabbawoo (talk) 15:39, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- I suggest raising it at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) and seeing if you can garner a consensus that using links like this adds value. --John (talk) 15:50, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
