I have uploaded pictures of several 1966 AMC Ambassadors. On the right are two examples of convertibles with their tops down. Thus, I have no clue as to which car you are referring to. Moreover, I do not know if any of them would be for currently for sale. Of course, if you offer enough money ... I am sure you can then get their owner's attention! Revert to Nash-Healey

I see you reverted my addition to the Nash-Healey page here. Giving today's adjusted price is not meaningless, it is showing the premium price of the Nash-Healey in addition to the already shown disparity to the rival cars. It is helpful to show a price with which users are familiar, which is why the Inflation template was created. The issue of using inflation adjusted prices has been discussed in WikiProject Automobiles as well as on several individual car talk pages of articles that I have edited. It is difficult to compare the old cars to current models. There have been major changes in efficiency, technology, manufacturing, materials, productivity, logistics, etc. over the years that are not reflected in a simple mathematical inflation-adjusted price into current money. An example are the price drops for a flat screen monitor since their market introduction. This pattern is true in automobiles as well. Nevertheless, inflation-adjusted values can be used to show readers a then to now comparison.

In this article, the objective of providing the prices of the three similar domestic sports cars in the 1950s is to show the comparison of then to then. This information highlights the significant price disparity of the Nash-Healy to the Corvette and Thunderbird. With its much higher price, the Nash-Heally faced a marketing challenge with the competition in its day. This provides the reader context to the prices back then. The higher price also reflects the Nash-Healey's expensive assembly and limited marketing efforts in contrast to the mass production and promotion of the Corvette and Thunderbird.

On the other hand, showing an inflation-adjusted price of this car in today's dollars is meaningless in the context of the 1950s market conditions and the then prevailing prices. Simply extrapolating the Hash-Healey's sales price by an inflation adjustment does not provide context for the reader. Modern production, marketing, and pricing are totally different. The only way to provide context to a Nash-Healy's inflation-adjusted price is to give the price of a new sports car that is built like the Nash-Healey: using hand craftsmanship. Please don't "fix" correct English

Hi, CZmarlin. Your recent edits to Headlamp consisted largely of changing international-English spellings (centre, maximise, utilise, colour, aluminium...) to US spellings (center, maximize, utilize, color, aluminum...). Per MOS:RETAIN, we don't do that. Headlamp is written in international English, so the spellings were correct before you "fixed" them. I've put them back the way they were. It is great to hear from a proud owner of a 1953 Nash! I trust that you are enjoying the car as much as I pleasure of admiring it. However, there were two real nice 1953 Nashes that I took pictures of at the 2012 AACA meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania. They were among numerous pictures of the vehicles on public display that I took during this large classic car show. Moreover, I did not have a chance to identify, meet, and talk with the the owners of the cars.
