cough
He was using scathing comments and insults so the least I could do was inform him about policies. I don't think I broke any rules in coughing...it happens...it's natural. :) — Nobleeagle [TALK] [C] 06:58, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Original Research
Original research is one of the three content policies of Wikipedia, along with NPOV and Verifiability. From WP:OR: "Jointly, these policies determine the type and quality of material that is acceptable in articles." If content is OR it is not acceptable in an article. The content policies are non-negotiable. If you persist in re-adding OR content, rather than working on it in the temp page set up, I will block you from editing.—Perceval 19:44, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Metamath
Thank you for your improvements to my somewhat loose English. I have been planning to write a new version of this page with more details. Anyway I don't know exactly when I will release it. -- fl —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.127.41.206 (talk) 11:54, 3 March 2007 (UTC).

Arrow's impossibility theorem
I mentioned this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Game theory, but I wanted to make sure you saw it as well. You probably noticed recent edits made to Arrow's impossibility theorem by User:Dr. I .D. A. MacIntyre. The edits were out of place and poorly formatted, and have been moved to the talk page to be integrated later, I guess. Anyway, Dr. MacIntyre has stated on their user page that he wishes to create a page that resolves what he calls "Arrow's paradox" (well, he says a few things, you can read it yourself). I don't know if any of you are very familiar with his work - I'm not - (assuming this is the Dr. MacIntyre), but his contributions to game theory is largely along these lines. Umm, I guess I'm bringing this to your attention because the user could probably use help in this project (advice, naming said article, formatting, casting references, support if things become frustrating, etc). Perfect numbers and Kuhnel
Touchard's paper's abstract states that he proves that odd perfect numbers must be of the form 36m+1,9,13, or 25, and Holdener does, too, so that's good enough for me. Kuhnel appears to have given bounds on number of prime factors, and size. Cheers, Doctormatt 19:45, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- From an encyclopedic point of view, I don't know that it matters who proved this first, just that we provide a reference to a proof. At least, it doesn't bother me if Holdener/Touchard are referenced over Kuhnel (if he did in fact prove this). The fact that Holdener's paper is in english should also count for something, since this is the english wikipedia. Cheers, Doctormatt 20:09, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Removing links
Can you explain why you've been removing wikilinks so freely from articles? The links you removed looked good to me... Thanks. Georgewilliamherbert 20:18, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- In particular, you should not be removing links around full dates (like "January 19 1999") as you did here. The MOS says that such dates should be wikified so that user preferences can automatically translate the date into the user's preferred format. -- Bovineone 01:04, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
