Image Tagging Image:Edinburghcrowd.jpg
This image may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Edinburghcrowd.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Sherool (talk) 02:13, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Birhanwoldulive8.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Birhanwoldulive8.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. --OrphanBot 09:09, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Rudy (film)
Please avoid using weasel phrases in the entry for Rudy. Statements like "The movie is often considered to be..." lack precision, evidence, and often "give the force of authority to a statement without letting the reader decide if the source of the opinion is reliable." If you can find evidence (reputable survey, for example), that Rudy is considered by viewers to be the best sports movie, then we can make such a claim in the article (with proper citation). --mtz206 22:30, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:KCSuperBowl.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:KCSuperBowl.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below).
If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Speedy deletion of 1920 Decatur Staleys season
A tag has been placed on 1920 Decatur Staleys season, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Langara College 23:46, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:ThanksgivingDETDALKC.JPG)
Thanks for uploading Image:ThanksgivingDETDALKC.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. AfD nomination of Jim Lynch (Survivor)
An editor has nominated Jim Lynch (Survivor), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jim Lynch (Survivor) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. License tagging for Image:SprintCenter-March07.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:SprintCenter-March07.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:46, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Image:SprintCenter-6March2007.JPG listed for deletion
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy (go around) 23:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)1985 Kansas City Royals season
As was previously noted in January by another user, page moves should be done properly by using the "move" link at the top of the page instead of cut and paste. The system automatically creates the redirect, preserving the history, and moves the discussion from the talk page. —Mike 19:31, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

I thank you for creating a Chiefs templates category, but please leave the existing Kansas City Chiefs category in place. Like Category:New England Patriots templates and Category:New England Patriots, the former is used to house all templates, while the latter is used to house all articles. In your case, Kansas City Chiefs should be the main article (i.e. [[Category:Kansas City Chiefs| ]]), with articles like Joe Montana also in there, plus any subcategories - Category:Kansas City Chiefs templates should not have any subcategories. Furthermore, Category:Kansas City Chiefs templates should be categorized under both Category:National Football League templates and Category:Kansas City Chiefs. Thank you in advance. - Scratch most of the above. I see what your problem is now. All of those player articles are showing up because you need to enclose the Template:KansasCityChiefsStartingQuarterbacks with <noinclude></noinclude>, for any pages in which that template is contained also aren't included in the category of that template. 2007 NFL Player Conduct Policy
Hi Conman33. You are off to such a great start on the article 2007 NFL Player Conduct Policy that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. Appearing on the Main Page would help bring publicity to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for Did you know... nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at Did you know suggestions. Again, great job on the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 14:34, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Copyrighted images on userboxes
A non-free image was recently removed from one or more of your userboxes. Please be advised that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Wikipedia policy does not allow templates (which includes userboxes) or user pages to contain any copyrighted content not under a free license; so, for example, claims under "fair use" are explicitly rejected. This clause is to be interpreted strictly and without exception, for legal reasons. You can research Wikipedia's non-free content policy for more details.
I hope this does not discourage you from creating more userboxes; your contributions to Wikipedia are greatly appreciated. For images and other media that are freely available for use in userpages and userboxes, check out Wikimedia Commons. Thank you.

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on History of the Kansas City Chiefs (1960-1988), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because History of the Kansas City Chiefs (1960-1988) fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting History of the Kansas City Chiefs (1960-1988), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:37, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- I created the article and I was wanting it to be deleted myself. I wasn't thinking when I created it but then I realized that I can probably just shorten the original article myself without splitting it up. Conman33 21:37, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Poster HardKnocks2007.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Poster HardKnocks2007.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 22:10, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- To be honest, I really don't know how to tag the photos. I've always been terrible about uploading pictures onto Wikipedia but, a majority of them are deleted because I give them the wrong tag. If you could help, that would be great. I don't think this poster in any way violates what HBO shows on the program because it's not really showing the teams or any footage. Whatever. I'm clueless. Conman33 02:31, 18 August 2007 (UTC) P.S., you can just look at the previous postings in my discussion page and see all the failed attempts at uploading pictures. Conman33 02:32, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Croyle/Holmes images
I like your images, but I'm not sure they are legally allowed here. If you look at the license tag you gave them, it says they must be illustrating the television program features in the picture. I am almost certain that this does not include using them to show Croyle or Holmes. You're essentially using the image to show Croyle and Holmes, and their use on those articles has nothing to do with the TV show. I'm not going to go look for some way to get them deleted, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are soon.►Chris Nelson 07:07, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I made these screenshots myself. I didn't get them from a website. I recorded the program with TiVo and uploaded it to my computer, and took screens of the program. I understand if they'll be deleted, but to be honest, I don't think they harm the program or HBO in any way. But hey, whatever. I hate the whole picture uploading stuff anyways because it's almost impossible for me to find ones that fall into the category of Wiki pictures. Conman33 20:17, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:PriestHolmesHardKnocksChiefs.png. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. fuzzy510 19:13, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:AmericasGame.JPG. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:33, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Starting QBs template
Thanks for editing Template:NFLStartingQuarterbacks, but I wanted to let you know that it's only updated after each week's games and only contains the quarterbacks that have started the most recent game for the team. In the Chiefs' case, this is still Damon Huard, and Brodie Croyle will not be added to the template until he starts a game for KC. Thanks.►Chris NelsonHolla! 23:41, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:E01-TyLaw.PNG
Thanks for uploading Image:E01-TyLaw.PNG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rhobite (talk) 12:35, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:E01-JaredAllen.PNG
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:E01-JaredAllen.PNG.
Thank you. 76.117.210.109 (talk) 11:16, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- This and other Hard Knocks screencaps are missing fair use rationales. --76.117.210.109 (talk) 11:16, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Thanks
No problem. It's great to have someone so dedicated to their team and articles that Wikipedia can trust. Hopefully the Chiefs have more success next year. :) Pats1 T/C 03:46, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- That would be kind of tough! But the Pats have the #7 pick, so things should be interesting. Pats1 T/C 14:22, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
