Raunge / Raunging

[edit]

It's a word passed down through a few generations in Stockport. Meaning ; a word to describe a hard, tedious or fiddly physical job or action. Example ; I tried to take that tree stump out of the garden today, I was 'Raunging' about with it for 2 hours! Example ; I'm going to go and have a 'Raunge' with that rusty bolt on the car engine.
