[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page List of esports leagues and tournaments has been reverted.
Your edit here to List of esports leagues and tournaments was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://twitter.com/APL_FF) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Please do not link to draft pages as this is not permitted per [[rm per MOS:DRAFTNOLINK. David.moreno72 10:08, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not promote your league all over Wikipedia unless it has a standalone non-draft article. Also, use of multiple accounts or accounts with an identical editing pattern like you have done (having previously edited as Jimmywiki14, is unacceptable, so this account has been blocked. Request reason:

Hello - I am new to wikipedia so I sincerely and honestly apologize for posting links to a draft page (lesson learnt!) but there has been a mistake for my blocking - I am not Jimmywiki14! We are completely separate people from different areas of Sydney who were working on the same draft page together for approval as you can see in the edits for the page. The league is a new elite invitational-only fantasy football/e-sports league as a result of the growth of E-sports and fantasy football in Australia. It appears Graham has thought we were the same person which is not the case (happy for you to check IPs!). I promise I will read up on the rules when unbanned and will not post links to draft pages or perform identical editing again! Again, sincerely apologies as I am new to wikipedia and appreciate your guidance! CJWiki7 (talk) 05:46, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Whether you are the same person in real life or not doesn't actually matter to us - the fact is that both accounts have been set up purely to promote your fantasy football league. As far as Wikipedia is concerned, that means you are a sockpuppet.Yunshui  07:05, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Also see this message by Jimmywiki14 on my talk page. Personally I'd be much more inclined to unblock you if you had something in mind other than promoting your fantasy football league. As it stands the editing activity on both the accounts is very, very similar. Graham87 06:16, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Graham Thanks for your message and guidance - but it would appear that I've been banned for something that is not the true though - that I am Jimmywiki14 when I'm not. Surely an IP check can be done? I am new to wikipedia so I hope you can re-consider and accept my sincere apologies. I have a number of other interests that I would like to contribute to and I've undertaken I'll review the rules thoroughly. CJWiki7

Hello Yunshui - As you can see above I am brand new to wikipedia and I have other interests that I would like to contribute to. I am asking for mercy that yes I have done the wrong thing which I sincerely apologise for but I have undertaken to review the rules thoroughly. I was banned without any warning. I'm hoping you can see I'm pleading for forgiveness here and an IP check can be done.CJWiki7 (talk) 07:21, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging Yunshui properly, as well as David.moreno72: as described above, you were not blocked for *being* a sockpuppet, you were blocked for behaving exactly like one, which is precisely the same thing on Wikipedia. As for other interests, what specifically would you be planning on contributing here? Graham87 09:21, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Yunshui / Graham - As I said - I sincerely apologize for making the mistake to behave like a sockpuppet which I overwhelming regret now having read the rules. I am humbly asking for a second chance since I am new to Wikipedia and I want to positively contribute to primarily Rugby League, Rugby Union, and Football player pages. The statistical upkeep for player pages would I imagine be a lot on Wikipedia and I could positively assist here since I follow all sports rigorously here in Australia (this would be purely factual info sourced and reference from the competition sites and not my opinion). Again, I ask for forgiveness for my mistakes. CJWiki7 (talk) 09:51, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well for that, there's WikiProject Rugby league, WikiProject Rugby union, etc. Yunshui (or whoever sees this), is it OK for an unblock now? I'm leaning towards one. I'll unblock anyway if I don't here anything to the contrary by 12:00PM tomorrow my time (04:00 UTC). Any checkuser can feel free to overturn this block without consulting me. Or is it that the {{Checkuser needed}} template simply needs to be deactivated? Graham87 11:12, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've run a CU already, it was  Inconclusive, but that was to be expected. Personally I think editing rugby articles might be skirting a little close to the COI line, but I'm happy to defer to your judgement, Graham. As long as there's a commitment to avoid any further editing related to the APL, I don't see any obvious issues unblocking this account. Yunshui  11:52, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, CJWiki7, I've unblocked you, but I do also agree with the above message. Yes fantasy gridiron is sorta semi-related to rugby but probably everybody has some sort of conflict of interest with the latter on the Sydney side of the Barassi Line. :-) Graham87 12:54, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
