Lenox Avenue

I would like to point out in regard to this article, that if you are in some way connected to an organization that has a particular point of view about Lenox Avenue, such as a Business Improvement District or a Merchants Association, or their P.R. representatives, then you should read our policies on editing with a conflict of interest and on Wikipedia not being a promotional medium. When an edit you made has been properly reverted from an article, the proper response is not to try to insert it again as it was, but to discuss what the problems are with it. In the case of your material, the basic problem was that it is not written from with a neutral, encyclopedic tone. Expressions like "great rising" and "find raising bash" are not appropriate for an encyclopedia. Nor are your opinions or analysis what we need - we want factual information, presented in a neutral and understandable fashion, to help our readers understand the subject matter.

A further problem with your material is that it was not properly formatted in many different ways. You need to look at other Wikipedia articles to see how they are formatted, and copy them. A few particulars: in-line references begin with a "<ref>" tag and end with a "</ref>" tag. In between the two tags put the actual reference itself, do not describe the reference and then list it on the bottom of the page. Also, sections are denoted by two or more equal signs before and after the section title: "== Section title =="

Finally, you need to look at the actual content of the material and ask yourself it it's something that you would expect to see in any other encyclopedia. If not, then it's very probable that it's not appropriate for Wikipedia either. Although we are not a traditional paper encyclopedia and do include more kinds of information than they do, we are not a catch-all for every piece of information about a subject. We expect that our articles are just that, articles, which can be read for both information and enjoyment.

I strongly suggest that you take a good hard look at the material you're trying to add to this article and make the necessary changes to it before you insert it again. If you simply put it in as it was, it will be removed again, and you will be in danger of being sanctioned for "edit-warring", which is not allowed. Beyond My Ken (talk) 09:48, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

I agree with BMK. Much of the content isn't encyclopedic, and will quickly become dated. Terms like "since last year" and "over the past few years" should be avoided. Much of the info you've tried to add isn't actually about Lenox Avenue, but about Harlem. And where you do talk about Lenox Avenue specifically, you seem to be making personal observations rather than reporting what reliable sources have reported (e.g. "The area of Lenox Avenue has became its own city within in a city, but the rate of crime has seem to have gotten worst(sic.).").
