XyWrite pov
[edit]Hello; I see you added a template to XyWrite that reads: The neutrality of this article is disputed. Please see discussion on the talk page. However, I see no relevant discussion on the talk page, certainly no questioning of the neutrality of the article.
Perhaps you wanted to dispute the neutrality of the article but forgot to post a message there, or perhaps something got lost in a crash or similar.
If this merits a reply, please reply on the talk page of XyWrite rather than here or on my talk page. Thanks! -- Hoary 05:43, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

My artwork
[edit]Thank you :-D You might want to look at the deviantART gallery for more recent work. I've thought about it during the last weekend and as long it's a royalty-free license to Wikimedia and I'm not surrendering my rights to the original, I'm up for it. In fact I've started an illustration for Cryolophosaurus. John.Conway has contributed with a number of works of palaeontography (that is, the illustration of ancient creatures) so I think you could bother him as well ;-) Dracontes 16:34, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Ooh. Controversy
[edit]I'm sure you're pretty sick of the Q no U article by now. I've made what I feel is quite an abrupt comment about qt here (below "conclusion of vote"). Please offer your comments. Bobo. 22:07, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

My Attempt:
[edit]Since Wikipedia:WikiProject Dinosaurs is becoming a bit dormant of late, I've decided to get it reactivated. I've started putting the following templates all over the show, & I'd appreciate if someone would try putting them on too. Remember, they only go on Dinosaur orientated artcle's TALK pages. Not the articles themselves.
Dinosaurs Unassessed | ||||||||||
|
So, finally, while I work on the project with a designer, in order to get more people, thus more pages, I would appreciate if you didn't move or shift (or stuff up for that matter) any of the work I'll be doing, like adding templates, protocols to the project page, etc etc. I'm hoping to get it up to the standard of The military history project. So, tell your friends to join up, or spam unknowing people & continue to do great articles. I no time, we'll have an awesome, professional project page! Spawn Man 03:49, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
New improvement
[edit]As per step three (on the dinosaur project talk page), I promised to ask a general consensus about any new improvements made. So, I'd like everyone to give comments on the new talk page banner:
Dinosaurs Unassessed | ||||||||||

What does everyone think of it? It's meant to be placed on the talk page of dinosaur related articles, so everytime you edit an article, placing this there would make our job easier. So a few questions I'd like everyone to answer:
1)Does everyone like the picture? 2)Is the wording adequate? 3)Any other queries/problems?
I'll let you know when a new improvement arises... Spawn Man 00:06, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Clabbers example board.png
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Clabbers example board.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 09:39, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

V for Vendetta (film)
[edit]Hi Agentsoo, I was wondering if we could have your well thought out opinions once again. The article V for Vendetta (film) has incorporated many of the ideas that were originally presented in the peer review, that you were a part of. Is the article moving towards a direction that you are more comfortable with? In particular, I just combined the section on "Modern US references" into a paragraph format. What do you think? Do you think the new format is better or is the old point form format better? Any feedback would be most appreciated. Thanks. --P-Chan 23:01, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the very detailed advice Agentsoo. It will help us go a long way, in terms of improving the article. Please feel free to become an active participant in the discussions as well as the actual article. (I hope we do get a chance to move the article to a Feature article level.) --P-Chan 01:39, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hey again. I put your comments in the talk, as I believe they are at a level of specificity that is entirely essential for us to get going on the right path. Do join us when you the time! :) --P-Chan 01:59, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

- Hello AgentSoo. I'm going to launch a GA for the V for Vendetta (film), in the next little while (Maybe 24 hours or so), unless is some objection from any of the major editors/contributers. Is there any imput you'd like to add before we launch it? If you see any red flags in the next little while, I would be appreciated if you could comment on the talk page. If not don't worry about it. Thanks man!--P-Chan 05:02, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hey man! It's the calm right before the storm. I've setup a peer review right before the article goes to FA. Do you have anymore comments to make? Cheers.--P-Chan 02:57, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Peer Review
[edit]I noticed that you did a peer review for V for Vendetta (film), a film based on a comic book written by Alan Moore. Presently, the Watchmen article has been put forward for a peer review and, since this is also written by Alan Moore, I was wondering if you could give an opinion on that article? It would be very much appreciated. Thanks Adasta 23:52, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Perfect Dark
[edit]Thanks for the compliments. I don't have time to look at this article in detail right now (about to travel away for a week), but it looks quite good from a quick glance. Perhaps some more substance could be added to the "Release and sales" section, though; it doesn't say much more than "critics liked it". Fredrik Johansson 11:39, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
In response to your question about the image of a 4-player split screen: I'm not so sure I can. I don't think it's possible - at least from what I have. I tried a while back to get a shot of GoldenEye 007's 4-player, but it didn't work because with the 'tech' that I have it only lets me into the single player portion. - Having an image of a Skedar on the page would fall under Fair Use provided you have a rationale, which is, it's the only bloody way to show you what a Skedar is. If there are Skedar images on Wikipedia already, then it would be fine to reinsert them into the article. - Hahnchen 18:49, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- I haven't seen any on Wikipedia. I agree that it would be useful to have one but ultimately not essential. Soo 19:11, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Dinosaurs
[edit]Hi Agentsoo!
There's currently less than 100 dinosaurs left on the Missing dinosaur page. We've come a long way! I was thinking that since there's just under 100 dinosaurs left, and since there are 25 of us signed on for the project, if we each wrote about four articles, we'd be done! Well, not "done", obviously, as many of the articles are in need of expansion. But then we could focus on expansion and other things.
You could take, say, Laevisuchus, Lagerpeton,Lametasaurus, and Lanasaurus.
It's just an idea, of course, and you're of course not obligated and can do whatever you like; I just figured I'd mention the idea, and see if you were interested. No harm, right?
Take care, --Firsfron 06:12, 23 April 2006 (UTC) :)

[edit]I hope you're doing alright. I remember that you mentioned many weeks ago that you would be available for copyediting when the V for Vendetta (film) article was in a stable form. Hiya. A heck of a long time ago, you added fusarium to the list of sources of vegetable oils, if I'm reading the history right. For the life of me, I can't find any other reference to an oil that's derived from fusarium. So...

Hey Soo, I added more info on Tichosteus and replaced the stub tag: adding the taxobox already brought the article up to 1.3 k, and since this genus was published in the 1800s (copyright expired), if we can get out hands on the original description, we'll have tons more we can add. I guess a lot of the WP:Dinosaurs participants don't even know about it, and I figured I'd let you know: people are practically begging for feedback and suggestions there, and not getting a whole lot. The new FAR/FARC process
[edit]Hi Soo
I noticed your comments on the FAC page, and wondered whether you'd be interested in dropping into WP:FAR occasionally (or often) to encourage, prod, critique, and—when the crunch comes—to declare "Keep" or "Remove".
The new FAR process is now being swamped with nominations (currently 23 in FAR and 13 in FARC), and the four or five regulars are finding it difficult to service the needs of such a large process. The ideal is to encourage the guardians of the many substandard FAs to fix them; sometimes this happens, but all too often, a nomination is met with disinterest by those you'd have thought would be keen.
The contribution of more good reviewers there, particularly those who are focused on good writing, would have a powerful impact on the FA culture in WP.

Barnstar
[edit]The Minor Barnstar | ||
I hereby award you this minor barnstar for your brilliant work disambiguating "Welsh". Mais oui!, 9 August, 2006 |
Thanks! AND you are doing it properly!!!!!!! One of the things that really pisses me off - and I read an awful lot of biographical articles - is when people pipe "Welsh" for example to "Welsh people". Grrr... - it should pipe to "Wales". I fix the manual cock-ups when I spot them (I do not have popups) but you are saving a lot of people a lot of work. You don't fancy having a go at:
- British (most should pipe to United Kingdom) (this is actually the worst disambiguation page in the entire project: over 3000 incoming links!)
- incoming links to British people (most should actually be piped to United Kingdom)
- English (most should pipe to England)
- incoming links to English people (most should actually be piped to England)
- Scottish (most should pipe to Scotland)
- incoming links to Scottish people (most should actually be piped to Scotland)
- incoming links to Welsh people (most should actually be piped to Wales)
do you? Thanks anyway. --Mais oui! 10:05, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ta for the link to Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links.
- In the case of the constituent countries of the United Kingdom it is crystal clear. England, Scotland and Wales (and indeed the United Kingdom as a whole) are "civic" nations, that is to say that nationality is a quality of civil society, certainly not a quality of race, ethnicity or language (a perhaps less flattering way of putting it is to say that they are all "mongerel" nations). As such, the (biography) links should disambiguate to the civic entity (UK, England, Scotland, Wales) and not to the (frankly utterly appalling) "ethnicity" articles, which are all a grievous breach of WP:OR, in my opinion. --Mais oui! 10:46, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

I spent a fair amount of time getting the introduction and first couple of sections into better encyclopaedic language and he keeps changing it. - Thanks, yes, I've left him messages on his talk page including a "Welcome" with help links, on the article talk page etc. He just isn't reading any of the guidelines. No edid summaries, no sig on talk pages, puts talk message at the top of the page, etc. Maybe when he realizes that there are a number of us on to him, he'll at least read the guidlines. [edit]Your post
[edit]For someone who is an admin, your post: "When you pay us, you can tell us what to do. Until then, shut up. You are not the leader of this project. You are not anyone's boss. The sooner you realise this the better. Soo 04:48, 12 September 2006 (UTC)", was surprising & somewhat disappointing. I've replied in full there as to what you should do, but I'll give you better instructions here. Okay.
1)Since you so awesomely expressed your feelings for me, you are now maintainer of the Dinosaur collaboration. You're right, I'm nobody's boss & you've done way more work than me with your, um, 4 FA's like me? Oh who am I kidding, I'm sure you've got one? Cause you're so much better at mustering people to work on things? Right? Yes, moving right along. If you need any advice on the collaboration, its formatting, how many templates you need to change, its nomination/voting procedure, don't hesitate to ask. 2)I guess I forgot my manners when saying Sheep81 was probably the best dinosaur editor here.I should have agknowledged you, as you obviously felt insulted. You are the best editor here. You've contributed so much to every collaboration article that's come up. Let me see, there's been T rex, Velociraptor, Diplodocus, T rex in pop culture, Procompy, etc etc... Yes, you've by far edited them the most, & Sheep's name only appears a couple of times across the whole thing. Or is it the other way round? Never mind. 3)I agree totally that I am nobody's boss. I should realise this, & as such, I will now resign from the Dinosaur Project. Consider my resignation on your desk & all my responsibilities now yours. I felt I was just doing my job, trying to get people supposedly so dedicated to the project that they wanted a whole article featured every month. I said no, it was impossible. But they said yey, it isth possible. So the first month went by. Both Trex & Velociraptor were featured. Then next month Diplodocus & Ankylosaurus were made good articles. Then the next 4 were edited pretty well. Then Procompy had about 7 or 8 changes made, 2 of which were me placing & removing the current dinosaur collaboration banner. I'm full-heartedly sorry for getting a lil' wee bit patriotic & trying to muster the troops to make another surge to show that we aren't just Sheep81 & a bunch of other editors who don't much. I guess due to your extreme "Until then, shut up" opposition, you don't want that to happen. For that, once again I'm sorry.
I hope you have a nice day. Any questions about your collaboration & how to get everyone to work on 4 FA's like me, don't hesitate to ask. Peace out. Spawn Man 06:56, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- God, you're still angry/miffed?! If Firsfron managed to calm me, king of arguments, (Approx 2 out of every 10 editors have had a fight with me), then you my friend have problems. Take a chill pill. Turn on some Abba. Take a bath. Ahhh, nice & calm? Good. Don't ever call me a child. I'm not fourteen gosh darn it! Just because I didn't correct someone saying that I was doesn't mean that I am. In anycase, you shouldn't be using age to descriminate anyway. On here we are all equals. For example, Sango123 is fourteen, yet I respect her very much. That's just one example. Your attitude is very worrysome for an admin & I think if you create any more outbursts like the ones on the Project's talk page before, I'm gonna have to get some intervention to keep your lax projection of the rules in check. I don't wanna fight. Let's be pals & put this behind us. Peace? :). Have a nice day Soo. Spawn Man 21:25, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request
[edit]This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 21:43, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Boris Image
[edit]Is it OK if you replace the fair use image of Boris Johnson on your user page to this recently uploaded freely licensable one? Image:BorisJohnsonemail.jpg Once you have done that the fair use image can be removed. Thanks. Miller 16:42, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. Please excuse the comments about Cambridge University on my user page! Miller 16:46, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- So after I’ve been told I can use it, what do I do now?
Hi Soo!
I'm planning to send Stegosaurus to Featured Article candidacy. The article failed its first nomination, but user:Casliber and I have been hard at work fixing stuff. As you're listed as a member of Wikipedia: WikiProject Dinosaurs, I figured I'd drop you a line and see if there was anything you thought should be added/removed/cited on the article before it is sent to FAC. We definitely want it to pass! :)
(Feel free to make any edits on the article itself, comment on the talk page, or leave a note on my talk page). Thanks for your time, Firsfron of Ronchester 19:18, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Category for articles created
[edit]HI! Considering my contributions, i wonder if it is ok to create a category for adding the talk pages of articles i have created, much in the same way as Category:Medieval warfare task force articles, possibly naming it "Category:Articles created by User:Striver"? --Striver 17:45, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi, would you mind having a look at article, which seems to be blatant advertisement to me. The user account seems to be single use and created for this article as well, and has the same name as one of the authors, suggesting it might be an ad. I have tagged the article as spam, but would help if you had a look. Cheers.Shreyam 13:05, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Need help with copyediting
[edit]Hi Mr Soo! I am trying to get Serial Experiments Lain featured, and one problem still standing is the text quality. Seing the grat work you've done on FAs in the past, I was thinking maybe you would have a spare minute to copyedit it? If not, maybe you know someone who might? Any help or advice on improvement is hugely appreciated. --SidiLemine 13:44, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Please note that names of Japanese nobility are exempt from Wikipedia:Naming conventions (names and titles),
::Exceptions: ::These conventions do not apply to Eastern and Polynesian civilizations. See also: Wikipedia:Manual of Style (China-related articles), Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles), Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Thailand-related articles).
Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles) does not define whether or not the title should be used in the article name, although this has been subject to some discussion without final resolution, so the name of this article and numerous others for members of collateral branches of the Japanese imperial house is not an error or violation of WP, and would suggest that whether or not to rename these articles be left for Wikiproject:Japan to reach a consensus.
Incidently, numerous biography articles make use of a substantive title, for example Prince William of Wales. --MChew 15:03, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Bounty offer
[edit]Hello. I saw your offer here [2] for country FA articles. I helped rewrite Turkey along with some other editors, and it just made FA as of yesterday. So what do you think? :) Cheers! Baristarim 09:35, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Bounty
[edit]Is there going to be another matching donation day before the end of the drive? If so I will wait if not I can do it whenever. Do you know if Wikipedia gets a special deal from Paypal or if Paypal still takes a nice sized cut of thigns? Dalf | Talk 20:02, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- It looks like Germany made it too, yesterday :) Dalf | Talk 20:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Looks like the drive is over and no more matching days happened so I just paied the $50. I am going to put another one up specifically for African countries and perhaps a lesser amount for re-elevation of formerly featured articles back to FA status. The FA count is stagnagt at 1,222 it seems since we are removing them as fast as we are adding them. Dalf | Talk 23:09, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Image sizes
[edit]Referring to my recent edits, how do you set your own preferences for thumbnails? The 'unsized' thumbnails on those pages are very small and hard to see, which is why I specified a size. Mglovesfun 18:54, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Gauss citation needed
[edit]Long time ago you added a picture of Gauss to the article Mathematics with the caption Carl Friedrich Gauss, while known as the "prince of mathematicians", did not believe that mathematics was worthy of study in its own right.[3] This has been tagged with {{fact}}
since August 16, 7½ months now. Can you find a citation for this? Otherwise the text should be replaced by something citable, such as
Carl Friedrich Gauss, known as the "prince of mathematicians", referred to mathematics as "the Queen of the Sciences". --LambiamTalk 21:08, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Perfect Dark
[edit]Hi, Soo. Regarding the alteration in Perfect Dark, I disagree with you. When description of another person's speech involves a direct quote using quotation marks ("), the qualifier that should not used. If quotation marks are not used, then reported (indirect) speech is used, in which case that is optional. Reported speech Axl 17:20, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. There are a couple of similar quotations in the article so I shall adjust those. Regards. Axl 18:24, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
graph of cosx
[edit]This probably isn't the place for it, but could you please explain to me how
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Pic79.png
represents the graph of f(x)=Cos x ? I am not a student of mathematics but I am a scientist and I am curious. PLease try and keep it simple :)
Thanks Lorangriel 16:22, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
