Re: Asians?
[edit]I am Taiwanese American. What is your ethnic background or nationality? (Kyla 13:51, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
I reside in New York. (Kyla 14:03, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
17/f/NY, Well according to the article Asian fetish, I guess I believe that white americans do see asians as submissive..I never dated anyone so I wouldn't know. I think it's just the Asian culture to why Asian females are submissive. Asian guys can be a little controlling and emotionless in the past. But now I think they can improve when they live in America longer. (Kyla 14:31, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
There is nothing wrong to have a conversation with other Wikipedians. :) We'll just sharing opinions...and how we feel about certain articles. (Kyla 14:44, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
Asian females as submissive is just a stereotype which means it doesn't describe every Asian female. I would be a little shy if I was in any interracial relationship. I think it's fun to learn different cultures. (Kyla 14:57, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
I have never been in an interracial relationship before. I was born in the US. Relationships are difficult. I don't think I can ever get married. There's a lot of responsibility in a marriage than living the single life. I don't want to have children or get married but if I have to then I guess I have to do it. (Kyla 16:30, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
It seems to me that I can't live the single life. So I guess I should get married in the future. I think I like to get married in my late 20s or early 30s. And then a couple of kids later on. That sounds like the perfect plan. I can't have kids too late...or too soon...if I miss the moment then I'll never be able to have kids. If I ever do miss the moment, I can always adopt. I don't think I would want to be an old lady watching my children graduate. :( (Kyla 16:52, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
I know that I am not emotionally ready to be in a committed relationship at this age. Until I'm ready, I will say yes. Sadly I will have to say no to this "special" person and I'm sure he will understand. This is part of life. We have friends...and when they move away or do other things chances are the friendship is over. Have you ever lost a friend? It could be a friend you never saw again or someone who died. I lost a childhood friend, Ayaka. She moved to Japan in 5th grade and I never saw her again. (Kyla 19:06, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
She was the typical childhood friend. We had playdates together. Do things together. Play games...There's not much to say about her since I only knew her as a child. (Kyla 13:34, 5 October 2005 (UTC))
Kyla is my pseudonym and Jessica Liao is my real name. I just thought I should use my real name instead of a pseudonym. You can still talk to me on the Kyla page if you want. (Jessica Liao 18:14, 5 October 2005 (UTC))
I don't speak Chinese. I hope to learn it someday. (Jessica Liao 22:21, 6 October 2005 (UTC))
Ethnic Slurs
[edit]- The Ethnic Slurs article is disgusting. It should be deleted. I have had many white racial slurs aimed at me and my family, and many black racial slurs aimed at friends. I do not appreciate this article, and will pray for the authors, and for its removal. I understand, it enlightens, but also influences.
- And, in a few of the slur definitions the word nigger is used. Now, you can't tell me that, to explain a meaning, you have to use that word. I believe, it was used to, be rascist. C2 aaron
- Generally "reportage" is considered an exception to style constraints. WP:NOT explains that wilkipedia is not (in general) censored. The history of the word is itself interesting. Look at the article (and if you like the talk page) on Tupac for modern rapper usage. IN times gone by it meant no more than "black", and only acquired racial (let alone racist) meaning comparatively recently. Rich Farmbrough 11:13, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

Unblocked
[edit]Hi C2. A lot of vandalism has come from your IP address see it's talk page, it's contirbutions, (for eaxmple this diff. Are you editing from a shared IP? Sorry I did not see your mail earlier, I will go and unblock the IP now, but it will probably get blocked again if more vandalism occurs. Rgds Rich Farmbrough 10:08, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
For example If it's a shared computer in a high school, cyber cafe, library, office etc.. If you share your connection with other people behind a "proxy" or some form of NAT. Rich Farmbrough 13:11, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
Now your IP address is noted as a school (not by me, someone was quicker) any bans should be short (typiclally 15 mins to 1 hour) most vandals get bored and go away before that. Rich Farmbrough 14:30, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
Thank You
[edit]Thank you, Aaron, for all your help. Buddy Love

- To facilitate quick and efficient verification of facts, especially in cases of vandalism.
- To minimise the occurrence of editorial disputes, or assist in resolving those which arise.
- To enhance the overall credibility and authoritative character of Wikipedia.
- To avoid claims of plagiarism or any other forms of intellectual dishonesty.

hi there!
[edit]My weekend consisted of doing my homework. How was your weekend? I just read them for fun! (Jessica Liao 21:46, 12 October 2005 (UTC))
We don't get grades here. I attend an alternative high school (if you click on the link, the picture there is my school). Parents have to see teachers in a meeting to find out how I am doing. I know it sucks. But that's the way the school works. I wanted kids at first then I began to have second thoughts. It cost money to have kids. I always think that I might end up with an underachiever which will cause me stress. It's fun to have kids at a certain age like up to 12 years old. They will change when they are teenagers. What if they do drugs or smoke..what if they don't succeed? What if I still have to support my children forever? Teens these days are smoking...and I don't want my kids to be like them. so the best way is not have kids...and I don't have to worry about them doing drugs or whatever harmful to their body. (Jessica Liao 15:55, 13 October 2005 (UTC))
Sockpuppets
[edit]I can't delete accounts, that would require direct access tot he database. While in general it is not encouraged to have mutliple acounts, it's not against policy (unless you use more than one to vote, or use them for anything "bad"). Indeed I have a second account User:Smackbot for my planned bot. While I could technically block these accounts, there is as far as I know no policy for it, unless the request comes fom that account. If you want me to, log on as that account and leave a message on my talk page. I have fixed up the silliness of the edit war, looks like it started with a mistake. Meanwhile have fun, and you can email me if you want to, it's more discreet than talk pages, but on either it is possible that I may not see you message for some time. Rich Farmbrough 16:55, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
Hi!
[edit]I didn't do much this weekend except go on Wikipedia. I'm beginning to become addicted to it. I like learning new things. It's so cool that an free encyclopedia like this one would let anyone contribute to the articles. Maybe I should stop using this...it's getting really crowded. No wonder the site takes so long to load. So what TV shows do you usually watch? I mostly watch the WB shows. I still can't believe that Just Legal is cancelled after only two episodes was showned. I really like the show Related. I have great hopes for this show. It looks like it will stay for a long time. (Jessica Liao 01:51, 18 October 2005 (UTC))

hi
[edit]Of course you'll interesting to talk to. I like you very much just from meeting you here. It's not like I can do anything about it. Once someone vandalizes the pages, thats it. I just have to deal with the fact that I can't use it at school. But that's good for me...at least I won't be using it during school. It's so addictive. Thanks so much for being my friend here! (Jessica Liao 01:46, 25 October 2005 (UTC))
It was really nice to get to know you. I guess our relationship ends today. Once again, that's life. We lose friends, that's part of life. I hope we come together in our edits..or maybe we will talk about an article. (Jessica Liao 19:31, 26 October 2005 (UTC))

Hi, what's this page for? Hows things with you? Rich Farmbrough 23:13, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
- Hello, I'm also curious about the page. I stumbled upon it and I have two questions:
- Why does it say 2005-2006, when baseball seasons fit within a calendar year. Are you using this terminology to imply that the standings carry over until the start of next season? This seems confusing to me. I believe it is standard practice to refer to baseball seasons by a single year. I would suggest we just change it to 2005.
- Also, why is this a Wikiproject page? As I understand the term, this page does not seem to fit. It seems like an article would be more appropriate, perhaps Major League Baseball standings for the 2005 season?
Thanks for your consideration. Johntex\talk 23:35, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit]We'll not allowed to chat on Wikipedia. Why are you doing a school project on me, anyway? I have decided that I am not using Wikipedia anymore. It is getting addictive and I want to concentrate on schoolwork. (Kyla 02:14, 12 November 2005 (UTC))

Baseball on Wikicities
[edit]Hello C2 aaron, Googie Man here and I've seen that you're interesting in editing Wikipedia's baseball articles. Jimbo and Angela have made a new webstie called Wikicities. This link in particular will take you to the baseball Wikicity. As you'll see it's similar to Wikipedia, but my hope is this will allow baseball fans to do more and different things, like reporting on games, in depth statistics, create mulitple pages for pictures, and whatever else baseball fans care to create. You've done great work on Wikipedia and I was hoping you could help get this baseball Wikicity off the ground. Please let me know what you think either at my talk page, or you can email me at terry@wikia.com. Thanks! Googie Man(Talk), 16:11, 5 January 2006 (UTC).
Babe Ruth
[edit]I'm posting this message on you Talk Page either because you've contributed to the article Babe Ruth, or because you've edited other baseball or sports related articles. I've recently completed a revision of this article at Babe Ruth/rewrite. If you have the time, I'd appreciated it if you'd compare the articles and leave any feedback you might have on the rewrite discussion page. I'd like to reach a consensus before makeing major changes to the main article. Thanks for your help. --djrobgordon 20:41, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
