Speedy deletion nomination of WebSeries Inc.
[edit]A tag has been placed on WebSeries Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 02:25, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Regarding WebSeries Inc.
[edit]Hi Byker,
I've recently replied to your comment at the talk page of the article you created, WebSeries Inc.. In the event that the page is deleted before you have time to read it, I've copied and pasted the message below:
Hi Byker. First off, thanks for your contributions. However, Wikipedia should not be used as a mean to gain popularity, or in a sense "advertise" a subject such as a company (see WP:NOTSOAPBOX). For a subject to have an article in Wikipedia, it also needs to meet notability guidelines, which basically are whether or not a subject is "worthy of notice". For something to be notable, it needs reliable, third party coverage of the subject, such as news articles or published books. While this may seem unfair, you have to think about all the different subjects out there; there are countless companies, countless people, countless videos, and more are created everyday. There are thousands, if not millions of them. Imagine if every one of these subjects got an article and how cluttered Wikipedia would be. Many subjects that no one has ever heard of or is interested in will have articles, and Wikipedia wouldn't be as good as a source as it is. Hope this makes sense. I don't mean to discourage you, and I hope you continue to contribute. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask me at my talk page. Thanks, 03:22, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
