Hello again!
[edit]Hello again! It's been about a month, and I thought I'd check in to see what's the latest with you. How has your experience with the project been? Folajimi 05:09, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- Wow! With the volume of traffic in these pages, it's an awfully nice gesture of you to drop a line. I've been busy, so I haven't been too wiki-active recently, but I try to do a bit of cleanup and proofreading here and there whenever I see something that needs it. My most major contribution, I guess, was a bold merger of pages, and the subsequent re-directing of links to those pages. So, as you can see, I haven't done much. But I've enjoyed every second of it! Well, good luck, and keep up the good work!! -- Byakuren 17:40, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- You are very welcome. Remember, the idea is to have fun around here; after all, editcountitis can be fatal! ;)
- If there is any task you think I may be able to help you with, feel free to leave a note on my talk page. TTFN --Folajimi 18:21, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Naruto ova merge
[edit]Is there a reason why you merged the ovas? I do not believe we need a seperate list for just 3 ovas. See: Oh My Goddess! (OVA) as an example. --Cat out 16:31, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hola! I'm not sure I understand what you mean... You mean that they each have a subsection within the same article? Originally each OVA had it's own separate article, in addition to the main Naruto OVA page. That is, there were 4 articles on this subject: the main one (the only remaining one), and three stub pages with exactly the same content as is now in the Naruto OVA article. When surfing the naruto network, I saw that all 4 pages were tagged for merger, so I boldly merged the pages. I removed no information. Someone else added the template at the top of the page. There's a bit more explanation on the OVA talk page. I'm sorry if this is not what you were asking; help me understand your question better, and maybe I can give you a more satisfactory answer.
- As I understand it, right now, the Oh My Goddess! OVA has 6 articles, 1 for the main OVA page, and one for each episode. The problem with the Naruto OVA's is that they are not sequential, or even related to each other. Heck, one of them doesn't even fit in with the storyline!! The Oh My Goddess! articles in general are much better formatted than the Naruto articles, but honestly, I don't have enough info on each of the individual OVA's to create complete articles for each one. So that's why there's 1 article page with all three summaries.
- Thanks for the comment, and let me know your thoughts and what you I can do to help the format! -- Byakuren 23:21, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- I really feel we should have one article per ova episode. Each ovas summary should be around two paragraph + production and other critical info. All this will easily exeed a page.
- Even filler episodes get their own pages so I do not see the harm on seperating them.
- --Cat out 23:06, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- As the page stands right, I don't think there's enough material to warrant a whole article for each OVA. I suspect most people who visit one of the OVA's articles will eventually end up visiting the pages for all three, so having all these together is an added convience. But convenience factor aside, I fear the articles will just be tagged for merger again. (I saw them before, and I assure you, they were painfully short.) As a sensible compromise I suggest two things:
- Starting a discussion on the article's talk page about the possibility of separating the articles.
- If it is decided that multiple pages are desireable, rather than create the incomplete stub-length pages and gradually fill them up, I suggest beefing up the article (with the extra paragraph on production information and other such info) in the existing page, and once it is ready to stand on its own, then do the move.
- What do you think? Let me know and I'll start the discussion section. -- Byakuren 02:19, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- While I do not object to a discussion idea, I'd prefer to come up with a concensus between you and me. My comments were for the long term future of the page(s). I just want Naruto ova page(s) to have the same quality as the OMG counterparts with infoboxes and etc.
- I have not ever seen a single Naruto OVA episode so I am more than disqualified to contribute to the article(s) aside from minor tweaks such as renaming.

Naruto names
[edit]From what I know, the Hokage titles are always First, Second, etc instead of Shodai, Nidaime, etc. Since we're going by the English manga, the names of the villages remain in Japanese (Konohagakure, Sunagakure) while the country names are in English (Land of Fire, Land of Wind). As for the jutsu... no idea. I guess it warrants some discussion, but cleaning all that up would be a really daunting task. The Splendiferous Gegiford 16:29, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry for budding in, I generaly do not join a conversation like this. English is preferable on english wikipedia.
- Furthermore you can present the japanese names in a list just like how anime episode lists present titles. See List of Oh My Goddess episodes for an example.

Where did you get your username from?
[edit]I was just wondering, becuase there is a snake character in the video game called suikoden 5 named Byakuren. -hotspot
- I needed a username for a new website membership... and at the time I was into anime big time, so I looked for a Japanese flower name... I know I tried a few that were taken before deciding on Byakuren, and after that, it stuck. It is supposed to be "lotus flower" or something like that in Japanese. In fact, this is the webpage I used to browse for names. I think the byaku- root might have something to do with "white" in Japanese, but don't take my word for it.
- As for Suikoden 5, I have no idea... I have no finger-eye coordination, and thus am not much of a gamer.
- Such a random question... LOL! Have a nice day. -- Byakuren 19:03, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, thanks for answering my random question, have a nice day too.-hotspot
