Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 17:13, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Neon Sarcastic, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please visit the article for details.

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JeremyMcClean (Talk) 22:04, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Neon Sarcastic requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Recreation of articles

[edit]

Please refrain from recreating articles which have been speedily deleted; continuing to do so is likely to result in a block. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 22:30, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that to pass A7 doesn't require passing the notability guidelines, it is a much lower threshold, and simply needs to claim importance: see WP:CSD#A7. If you feel that it doesn't meet the notability guidelines, it should be taken to AfD for discussion. With that in mind, please restore the previous revisions, as the same user appears to have recreated it, in a rather sorry state. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 22:35, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm currently working on this draft so please avoid editing it for the time being. I have found a couple of references, but so far they are confined to local leicester news, and I have not found any sources verifying some of the claims in the article, such as them playing in the Strawberry Fields Festival. If you could find some reliable sources, that would be a big help. Please familiarise yourself with WP:RS first, and bear in mind that social networking sites (such as facebook, myspace, youtube, etc.), blogs, and primary sources (anything published by the band or someone closely associated with the band) are not appropriate to reference the material. Hi Buzz, please be aware that the material you are attempting to re-add is unreferenced, and as such, cannot be accepted by wikipedia. This material was in the original version of the article, and during its cleanup, I eliminated it as I couldn't verify it. If you can provide reliable, third party sources to verify the information, it can be added. Please note also, however, that the material appears to be in the form of a commentary, which is not appropriate for wikipedia. Any content should be encyclopaedic, and directly relevant to the article: the obscure history of how this band was formed isn't relevant to the article, because wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. The links I provided above in the table are likely to be useful to you. Please try to make sure that you abide by our policies, especially as you seem to have a conflict of interest with the subject which makes it difficult to edit the article from a neutral point of view. for one.. i hope this signature works :P as youve been asking me for sometime.. i always forget =[... thank you for poutting said artical up.. as for history.. ive read a few band wiki sites and saw that they also have a 'History' on there site.. i was wondering what would be nesseccery as ive worked hard writting all this information up being as im a member of said band. Thanks for your time, i apprciate it ALOT x Buzz3001 (talk) 00:03, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Close; you should sign at the end of your message, though. I've moved the signature for you. As I said, seeing as you have a conflict of interest, it is recommended that you should not edit the article, because it can be very difficult to maintain a neutral perspective. A history section is acceptable for an encyclopaedic article, but material in the section should be notable: it generally includes basic factual information such as the original members of the band (I removed some of this information from the original draft because after several attempts at searching, I couldn't find a reliable source confirming the original members etc.), and information such as albums and singles released, their reception, etc. If insufficient verifiable information can be found to warrant the creation of a history section though, the article may be better off just briefly highlighting whatever information is available, until it can be expanded at a later date. If you can provide reliable sources to help, I am happy to continue to improve this article, but you should seriously consider the recommendation not to edit an article about a subject with which you are involved; it's not compulsory, but it is recommended for good reason.
