Alija Izetbegović and the Young Muslims
Oh, OK. I know that there were numerious SS Balias that were produced to fight for the Independent State of Croatia. I'll look for sources... HolyRomanEmperor 15:47, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- That is correct. However, the Muslims that joined the SS division did so of their own accord, and did so against the (anti-nationalist, pro-Ummah) teachings of the Young Muslims. It is therefore unfair to associate Young Muslims with the Nazis/Ustaša as they did not encourage Muslims to join such nationalist movements. -- Buyoof 15:51, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- Correct. But they previously were; so it deserves a mention (but a re-phrasing) No? HolyRomanEmperor 15:58, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- I believe there is some confusion over terminology here. By Muslims I meant the Wikipedia definition of Muslim, not members of the Young Muslims movement. It is true, as you say, that some members of the Muslim faith went against their religion in joining the SS. However this does not include members of the Young Muslims movement -- regarded as "radical" in those days -- which advocated the idea of Ummah and that nationalism was an evil.
- The fact that some Bosnian Muslims joined these SS divisions does deserve a mention, but probably in an article about Bosniaks rather than the Alija Izetbegović article, since those Muslims that did so would not have been members of the Young Muslims movement.
- So basically what I am saying is; it is inaccurate to say that the Young Muslims supported Nazis/Ustaša because, while other members of the Muslim faith may have done so, the Young Muslims and it's members did not. -- Buyoof 16:23, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
My apologies for the improper re-insertion of the data. :( HolyRomanEmperor 16:01, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- No problem at all. I learnt a great deal about the history as a result of this, so it was worth it. All the best :) -- Buyoof 16:23, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
By the way, I am being nominated at [1]. Care to vote for me? (or against, doesn't matter :) HolyRomanEmperor 16:36, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Personal Computer World
If you want to look at it this way, the two editions are *not* identical; one says "DVD edition" and the other "CD edition" (or whatever). Nitpicking, yeah, but that's why I said "virtually identical". Fourohfour 11:14, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have the last issue (dated 'June 2007') here, and it doesn't specify whether it's the CD or DVD edition on the cover, and inside it refers to both the CD and the DVD - that was the reason for my edit. However, I am a subscriber - so it's possible that the version mailed to subscribers isn't the same as the one sold in shops? (I haven't bought one from a shop in a long time.) Either way, I am happy for it to go back to "virtually identical" if that is safer. --Buyoof 13:09, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'll take your word for that; maybe they've changed it. In all honesty, it's a minor point anyway, which is why I hadn't bothered changing it back :-) Fourohfour 15:58, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
UBS as an initialism
The reference for providing UBS as an initialism can be found on their corporate site.
http://www.ubs.com/1/e/investors/faq/about.html
"What does 'UBS' stand for? The name ’UBS’ came from one of our predecessor firms - the Union Bank of Switzerland. However, just like other prominent brands which used to be an abbreviation of a company name, UBS is no longer considered an acronym."
Perhaps my sentence was not structured in the best manner, and this text from their site would serve better. It still should be classified as an 'initialism' —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LettusB (talk • contribs) 21:28, 21 April 2007 (UTC).
- Ah, I see what you mean now. I have reworded your new sentence a bit, I hope that's ok. --Buyoof 13:11, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'm still a wikipedia noob. It flows much better now.--LettusB 17:33, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
