Speedy deletion contested: Draft:The Shepherd (The Chosen)
Hello Butlerblog. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Draft:The Shepherd (The Chosen), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. Thank you. BangJan1999 16:44, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

Edits breaking episode lists
Just to let you know, some of your recent edits are breaking citations in episode lists, for example here and here. —Bruce1eetalk 13:30, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Bruce1ee: Thanks for catching those. I'm doing an AWB run on Category:Pages using infobox television with unknown parameters (temp). I actually remember seeing those and accepted the changes because even though they weren't related to the regex I'm using (or so I thought). When I OK'd the changes, I was thinking those were part of AWB's genfixes. When I looked at the diffs you noted, I see what happened. I had added two new regular expressions this morning to target some additional obsolete parameters in {{Infobox television}}. Those regexs picked up some similar matches in some other templates that it shouldn't have. Thanks for catching this. I'm removing those new regexs for now until I can look into what went wrong there. ButlerBlog (talk) 13:36, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- BTW, even though I've taken out the offending regular expressions so this won't occur going forward, if you happen to catch any more of these on past edits, let me know any diffs you see so I can compare them in my AWB log file. I keep a log in AWB and export that regularly so I can compare against any issues and keep notes on them. TIA. ButlerBlog (talk) 13:42, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'll keep an eye out for any mishaps like this. I've seen AWB do strange things before, even completely blank pages. Have a look at this thread. —Bruce1eetalk 14:29, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
I've seen AWB do strange things before
That's too kind ;-) In this case, it was definitely operator error. ButlerBlog (talk) 17:39, 17 March 2023 (UTC)

What happened to the distributor section?
I just found out that the distributor section has been removed from the Infobox television template. What I want to know is… why? Why can’t the distributor section just stay there? AdamDeanHall (talk) 14:37, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- @AdamDeanHall: Distributor parameter: is it needed? <- The discussion is there, not here (although I guess it's more appropriate to say "was"). That being said, the primary reason boils down to this:
the purpose of an infobox: to summarize (and not supplant) key facts that appear in the article
(from MOS:INFOBOX). How often is the distributor actually even mentioned in any article? I haven't seen a single instance of it. Yet we get edit wars over the value placed into|distributor=
for something that isn't even mentioned in the article. There are other reasons, so I won't rehash the discussion here, but they really are all some offshoot of the primary reason I mentioned. Suffice to say, there was strong support from that discussion as well as this one. That may not be what you want to hear, but keep in mind, the reasons are based on our MOS. So you're welcome to comment (there or here) if you feel so inclined, but it's already done and the reasons are sound, so it's unlikely to ever sway back the other direction. ButlerBlog (talk) 16:16, 17 March 2023 (UTC)- One thing to note, as I saw you made some edits in this area, you can move
|preceded_by=
/|followed_by=
values into the|related=
parameter if they are indeed related. For example, on your edit here [1], you could move those values into|related=

Paul O'Grady: For The Love of Dogs
I don't think the series has been cancelled, ITV will plan to air a tribute show for Paul O'Grady and air reminding episodes of Love Of Dogs this April. I think those episodes was filmed before his death.
"A tribute show titled For the Love of Paul O'Grady has been added to the ITV1 schedules for Sunday (April 2), and it's also been confirmed that the 11th series of Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs will premiere on the channel, as planned, on Thursday, April 13 at 8.30pm."

- I'm not sure why you're opening an article-specific discussion here. All I care about in reference to that article is the date format, so you're barking up the wrong tree by posting here. Discussions specific to article content should be discussed on the article's talk page. ButlerBlog (talk) 14:20, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
Article that might need to be deleted
The Librarian (TV Series) article may need to be deleted. It’s as Russian as the Russian flag. Particular of interest is that all the cited sources are in Russian from Russian media companies. Not a single source is in english. Also the show itself appears to only have aired in Russia. Thoughts? Wolfquack (talk) 22:44, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Wolfquack: Being Russian isn't a reason for deletion, and neither are any of the other things you mentioned. English sources are preferred, but that doesn't mean that non-English sources are not allowed: WP:NONENG. See WP:DEL-REASON for what the deletion criteria are. Incidentally, there are lots of Russian shows listed in the encyclopedia, as is the Russian flag. ButlerBlog (talk) 00:26, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
- Ok thank you, didn’t know that non-english sources were allowed. 🍻 Wolfquack (talk) 01:05, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
