Global Warming
[edit]Hi Butch. I see you spent quite some work editing global Warming. Unfortunately, some of the statements you introduced are plain wrong. E.g. it was known well before the 1990s that humans can and do have an influence on weather and climate. Also, the statement about a "global satellite relay network" is at least misleading - of course we have a reasonable temperature record from terrestial stations. Also, the satellite's ability to relay (as opposed to measure) is fairly irrelevant. As for measurements, it has recently turned out that much of the satellite data about atmospheric temperatures was rather off (due to problems in timing and targetting), so claiming that the 1980s installation of satellites lead to a more reliable pictue are problematic. Global Warming is a rather contentious article, and is in a kind of precarious balance. I expect someone will revert most of your changes (and I can't really disagree if that happens). Please consider to take such major changes to talk first. --Stephan Schulz 13:11, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
