Barnstart award
Hi Buster
Hope all is well with you :¬) Just to let you know that it seems that the "The 'Brains Work Better in A Community' Award" is not working properly, is there a problem with the image file? It is just displaying the alt text...Chaosdruid (talk) 13:06, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Very well. Hope the same for you. I'm working on the new Wave of 50 New Editors for WikiGuides, trying to establish a pattern of action so I don't leave things undone. I'm sure that my methods are not efficient re:time but they work for me. Perhaps, down the line, The Guides can come together and share processes etc. My guess is that there are as many ways of 'doing the job' as there are guides. Just a quick thought.... My wife and I are docents at the Lincoln Park Conservatory. We show people around on a guided tour, pointing out things and answering questions. What we DON"T do is go home with them and plant their garden or help to recuperate their sick plants. Thats how I feel about the Wiki Guide program. A hardy Welcome, some friendly guidance, a suggestion or three, a pointer in the right direction and let the fledgling find its own way in WikiWorld. Teach Them How to Fish..and leave. What are your thoughts? I'll check My "Brains" a bit later...:-)Buster Seven Talk 13:26, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Pretty similar, a user should be able to get basic pointers from us "The cafe is there - the toilets are down that corridor turn second left" etc. anything more than that should really be dealt with by the other arms, welcoming committee and the mentoring program etc. I will think about it some more though. I have had to take a week and a bit off due to RL work commitments, we had three members of staff leave and we had to chip in to cover them until we could get new staff members in. I am on catch up today so will probably be a little confused for the next couple of days while I try and make amends for time lost on Wiki :¬( Chaosdruid (talk) 14:11, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

100K Award
Thanks for acknowledging the contributions of others with the 100K Award. Now if only I can get the quality of my editors to match their quantity. ;) Will Beback talk 21:52, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Don't get to attached to that Award. I might suggest using it as a door-stop for the time being. A new and Improved model is on the drawing boards as we speak (or whatever it is that we are doing). You are on the list to receive the improved version. Buster Seven Talk 22:02, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Re:Request
It would be my honor to have you use the barnstar I designed. I am actually quite elated that you asked first, it shows that people still have manors and such. If you need anything else in relation to designing and, what I specialize in, insect related topics, I would gladly serve. Bugboy52.4 ¦ =-= 22:37, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- What do you want it to say? Or do you want it to just be able to edit every thing and you can type in your own title and text Bugboy52.4 ¦ =-= 01:51, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'd like to be able to change the message if necessary, but basically it would say....
Congratulations. 100000 Edits! You have acheived a milestone that very few editors have accomplished. The Wikipedia Community thanks you for your continued efforts. Buster Seven Talk 02:00, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- So you can have it like this:
{{User:Bugboy52.40/awards/edits|100,000|'''Congratulations. 100000 Edits! ''' You have achieved a milestone that very few editors have accomplished. The Wikipedia Community thanks you for your continued efforts.}}
So you can customize the number of edits in the title, and give a more personalized message (just in case you ever won't to change it) which gives you just two parameters, is tha ok? Oh, and I think just having my name in the template is good enough as a way of attributing it to me, thanks :D. Bugboy52.4 ¦ =-= 02:12, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Wow, that's not your everyday barnstar. I can't wait to see what I'll get at 200,000. Will Beback talk 06:31, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- I made a new template so it doesn't disturb the ones already used, feel free to use it as you please.
{{User:Bugboy52.40/awards/edits2|100,000|'''Congratulations. 100000 Edits! ''' You have achieved a milestone that very few editors have accomplished. The Wikipedia Community thanks you for your continued efforts.}}
I don't want to upset Jane, but if you're still helping her could you perhaps point out that she's still creating new articles which don't start properly, such as Kasriel Broydo. They sound like items from another encyclopedia, one which starts each article with an epithet rather than a sentence. Thanks. PamD (talk) 07:34, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

I don't think there is, probably just individual. I don't edit the player pages, you might check with someone who does. PDTantisocial (talk) 17:33, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Question about moving a page and redirects
I'm new here, taking you up on your offer as a guide. I've done some work at Montessori Method including moving it to Montessori Education and I think I fixed the redirects. But there exists also Montessori education (lower-case 'e') which redirects to Montessori Method. I think it should be deleted but I don't think I know what I'm doing enough to take that step. Can you advise me? Dave Ayer (talk) 15:08, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
OK, I get it, sentence case for articles. So what do I need to do? Move Montessori Education to Montessori education, fixing redirects again? Is there a cleaner fix?Dave Ayer (talk) 15:13, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- replied at Daves page.Buster Seven Talk 14:30, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, Buster7. There is still the issue of a page called 'Montessori education' (small 'e' as it should be) redirecting to 'Montessori Method' and thence to 'Montessori Education' (large 'E', the new page I created). How do I fix this? Dave Ayer (talk) 14:37, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- I am composing a request that I will ask at the WP:Help desk which is my usual course of action when I don't know "How-to-_________". Or maybe you may want to go there and ask??? Yea...you ask, I'll watch, and we will both know what to do. Buster Seven Talk 14:55, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)It looks as if the article Montessori Education should be at Montessori education: that's the usage throughout the text of the article. So you need to move it to the latter, which is currently occupied by a redirect. You need to use {{db-move}} on the latter page, to get an admin to delete it and move the full article across to occupy that, the correct, title. Hope that helps!
