Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! [edit]

Information icon Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Talk:Proud Boys. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. GorillaWarfare (talk) 14:21, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at Talk:Proud Boys. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. GorillaWarfare (talk) 16:19, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't attack. I point out facts. The fact is that the article I'm referring to is written poorly and misuses a secondary source. You should be more upset about that. Also, if I'm block for pointing out purposely misused secondary sources, you'll just prove my point.

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on others again, as you did at Talk:Proud Boys, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Acroterion (talk) 16:35, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop treating other editors as opponents to be overcome or denigrated. Bring sources, not accusations. Acroterion (talk) 16:36, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Personal attacks by a SPA at Talk:Proud Boys. Thank you. GorillaWarfare (talk) 17:08, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Where was the personal insult? Why is pointing out poor writing and misuse of secondary sources a personal attack. I pointed out ways to fix the problem. This is a serious problem, because it misrepresents the topic. The opposition to me has been nothing but disrespectful and ignorant, and the fact that you even blocked me shows that you support such biased writing. You guys deserve disrespect, but I didn't give any. Point out the person insult. Trust me, I'm using this with my audience. Commenting on the poor writing and misuse of secondary sources is talking about the content. You need to block the others who used personal attacks against me and got off topic by talking about Wikipedia standards, which this has nothing to do with those standards. Burgs2016 (talk) 17:39, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Based on what I read here, it looks like perhaps Wikipedia isn't the place for you. Hard to imagine you'd ever contribute constructively to a place you describe as "an echo chamber of left wing fascism". WP:NOTHERE is on point in this case. That's okay, there are plenty of sites that will welcome your contributions and I'm very sure you are aware of several of them already. Yamla (talk) 18:12, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

There is no person attack. It's an attempt to silence an opposing voice. If the content is biased, do you really think the editors are going to be neutral? @Acroterion is pointing out poor writing standards and a misuse of a secondary source an attack your book? Quite frankly, you guys are the ones attacking me, not the other way around. If anything, you deserve the disrespect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burgs2016 (talkcontribs) 17:34, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Insisting there were no attacks and then saying in the next breath that "you deserve the disrespect" and "Wikipedia is an echo chamber of left wing fascism" is an interesting approach. Please remember to sign your posts, even on your own talk page.
For admins reviewing the unblock request, I believe Acroterion's block was independent of the ANI report, but I did outline the behavior there: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Personal attacks by a SPA at Talk:Proud Boys. GorillaWarfare (talk) 17:52, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There were no attacks even though the people on that page deserved them for the disrespect they gave me. See, this is a perfect example of how the culture at Wikipedia uses bias in their writing. I came here as a serious independent who wanted to talk about how the reporting on this article is misleading. All I got in response was attacks after attacks. It's clear to me that this is a left wing group. I'm pissed, so pardon me if I go ahead and do what you accused me of doing when I didn't. All you have done is proven to me that I shouldn't be independent. Burgs2016 (talk) 18:06, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The real issue here is that any criticism of your work is considered a personal attack. You are just wrong, and I see that others have pointed it out. The writing of this article is biased and false. Even if it wasn't, try counter my actual point instead of referring to Wikipedia standards. Nothing I said about how the article could be reworded goes against the Wikipedia standards. If anything, I was trying to help the article be more neutral so that right wingers can't point to the obvious false statements. But all you have done here is proven to me that you deserve the criticism.

Again, the response to my block challenge proves my point about this being an echo chamber. Multiple people have pointed out your bias. You guys have a responsibility that you are abusing. Burgs2016 (talk) 18:15, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And, I think there is a case here to add Wikipedia to the list of organizations that can be sued for libel with such poor uses of secondary sources

Important notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for making personal attacks towards other editors. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Acroterion (talk) 17:11, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You may not use talkpages as platforms for attacks on other editors who are citing Wikipedia policy that you wish was otherwise. If this conduct recurs, the next block will be indefinite Acroterion (talk) 17:16, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good to know that Wikipedia is an echo chamber of left wing fascism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burgs2016 (talkcontribs) 17:45, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Based on post-block conduct, I've made this b lock indefinite, as there appears to be no reason to expect that this editor will return to begin collaborative editing after 48 hours. Acroterion (talk) 21:50, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removed your ability to use your user talk page.

[edit]

You have continued to issue personal attacks and level veiled legal threats at your user talk page since being blocked. For that reason, I have removed your ability to use this user talk page for the duration of your block. If you wish to be unblocked, you now must use the Wikipedia:Unblock Ticket Request System and follow the instructions on that page. --Jayron32 18:48, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
