Happy holidays!
Hello there, 'tis the season again, believe it or not, the years pass so quickly now! A big thank you for all of your contributions to Wikipedia in 2024! Wishing you a Very happy and productive 2025! ♦Maliner (talk) 15:54, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Maliner Thanks, and same to you! Hope you have a happy holiday! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 15:56, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Question from Philly6097 (17:40, 18 December 2024)
Hello Mr. Pranav, and thank you for reaching out to me. As I said on my fledgling user page, I'm a longtime reader of Wikipedia hoping to make a more regular thing of contributing, particularly to articles concerning birds and local history (mainly New England for me).
I started a teahouse conversation the other day because some of the edits I would like to do involve taking out needless trivia, cruft as someone called it. Though I see an overstuffed and ill proportioned article as being, because of the off putting effect on a reader, almost as bad as a scanty or wrong one, I want to proceed with consideration. I would find it helpful if you could point out any relevant policies or projects that come to mind, as I am not skilled in navigating the forest of WP: and so forth.
I find it an interesting philosophical question how Wikipedia should coexist with sources like Cornell Lab's eBird which have come to dominate their (sometimes narrow) realms in mind boggling detail.
As it is, I plan to cautiously start editing the article Monk Parakeet with an eye to the sort of problem I mention above, and I'm curious as to whether it will attract any pushback.
Thanks again for your message, and for any advice you care to send my way! --Philly6097 (talk) 17:40, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Philly6097 I have posted a tamplate with links in your talk. You can refer to it anytime for a list of basic policies. As for this specific issue, Wikipedia:Trivia, Wikipedia:Reliable sources, and Wikipedia:Verifiability might be of use. Consider browsing through the links in the above three pages as well for extended content. Hope the helps ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 06:01, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
BunnysBot adding duplicate parms
BunnysBot is adding filmbio-work-group=yes to talk pages that already have filmbio-work-group. see this history. Davemck (talk) 19:47, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Davemck, I check if the
filmbio-work-group=yes
already exists, due to the page usingfilmbio-work-group=y
, this error seems to have occured. The job is done, so no worries anymore. Thanks for pointing it out! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 10:24, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
Close at In Search of Lost Time
Three of the four oppose votes had no basis in policy or misrepresented policy. I’d like to relist the discussion and get more eyes on it before closing. Would you be willing to undo your close for relisting? ꧁Zanahary꧂ 14:04, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Zanahary, sorry for the delayed response. Based on my reading of the consensus, the votes are based on policies. There are very strong arguments against the move on the move. I still think that the closure is appropriate. Please reply back if you still feel that is closure is inappropriate. Thanks! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 12:28, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
Timeline of the Israel–Hamas war (17 October 2024 – present) and Timeline of the Israel–Hezbollah conflict (17 September 2024 – present)
Can you start splitting proposals for these two article and split if it they have consensus among Wikipedians. I think that 2024 Israel–Lebanon ceasefire agreement is the best breakthrough event for splitting both articles. Thank you in advance. Pachu Kannan (talk) 05:59, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Pachu Kannan I shall plan to do it in a while. Feel free to start one. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 12:31, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted
Hi Bunnypranav, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
- Add Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers to your watchlist to follow NPP-related discussions
- If you use Twinkle, configure it to log your CSDs and PRODs
- If you can read any languages other than English, add yourself to the list of reviewers with language proficiencies
You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! – Joe (talk) 10:11, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Redirects to subsections
A tag has been placed on Category:Redirects to subsections indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 08:27, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Liz Please delete it now per G7, author request. This is per a discussion in Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Redirect#R_to_subsection. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 08:31, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
Relisting at Talk:Romer (disambiguation)
I wanted to ask what seems to be the issue here, why did you relist it? Ample arguments, supported by data, have been provided in favor of this move. There was one argument in opposition that did not actually counter all the other arguments, and was explicitly countered itself. AFAICT we have fairly clear consensus there per WP:CONS. --Joy (talk) 11:21, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Joy, thanks for bringing this up. After taking a second look at the comments, I have closed it as moved. Thanks again! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 11:55, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
Question from Warren Faidley (18:41, 26 December 2024)
Hello, I am trying to edit my own Wiki, Warren Faidley. People keep making destructive edits on the page. I need to work on this page, as I have a very long, detailed history. Thank you. Warren. --Warren Faidley (talk) 18:41, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Warren Faidley, I am not sure which page you were trying to edit. I do not see anything in your contributions. Is it on the English Wikipedia? If yes, creating/editing your own page is discouraged per Wikipedia:Autobiography. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 02:55, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- It's my own page for Warren Faidley, which is me. It has been hacked to death over the years. I am going to hire someone for the technical parts. I can write the text and provide links / references. Thanks. Warren 2601:500:8702:6E00:0:0:0:20D6 (talk) 03:24, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
WP:UAA reports on users with no edits
Generally, there is no reason to report usernames with no edits whatsoever. Per WP:UAAI: "Only report accounts with edits and do not report those with no edits in the preceding 2 weeks. Do not report a user that has not edited or has not edited in the preceding 2 weeks, except for an instance of an egregious name violation. We do not want to welcome productive editors with a report at UAA, nor do we want to waste time dealing with accounts that may never be used." The exceptions are obvious hate speech or names that attack a living person/Wikipedia editor, those are blockable even without any edits, but other run-of-the-mill violations such as names of organizations or products need not be reported unless and until they at least attempt to edit, and you should be able to clearly explain what the problem is if it is not immediately evident.
For whatever reason, every day dozens, if not hundreds of accounts are created that never make one single edit. It is our responsibility as admins to conscientiously review every report a user makes at UAA, so we have to check for contribs, deleted contribs, and tripping of the edit filter for every one of these reports, only to find out there's nothing there and therefore no problem to be solved. That's time that could be spent doing more productive things, but you basically obligate admins to do it by making such reports. El Beeblerino if you're not into the whole brevity thing 21:00, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry for the inconvenience caused, will keep in mind for future reports. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 02:49, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
Move request for page Lingayatism
Hi @Bunnypranav, Can we please conclude the discussion on move request of page Lingayatism to "Lingayats". Thank You ! PerspicazHistorian (talk) 11:06, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- @PerspicazHistorian Per WP:RMRELIST, relisted moves stay open for 7 days after the relist (21 Dec to 28 Dec in this case). They should not be closed early unless there is a clear consensus with strong arguments, which I do not see here yet. Better leave it for 7 days. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 11:55, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- okay PerspicazHistorian (talk) 14:47, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Bunnypranav You can move the page now, It has a clear consensus. Thank You! PerspicazHistorian (talk) 06:54, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
Terranes
Thanks for the close at Talk:Buffalo Head terrane. Can you do some of the cleanup edits, at least the bold leads? Maybe also mark the redirects as "R from miscapitalization"? Dicklyon (talk) 12:03, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sure, currently my AWB is busy doing the tasks you posted at AWB/TA. Will hopefully do it by today. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 12:57, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Dicklyon 24 edits redirect tagging and 22 edits. In the second run, I fixed some of the cases in the lead and whole article as well, though not completely. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 08:01, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- Nice work! Thanks again. Dicklyon (talk) 10:00, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
Regarding your close of this RM, you have simply stated "not moved", where this may or may not indicate "consensus against". As noted by CMD, the two previous votes were unrelated to WP:AT and so were subsequent votes. They mostly expressed a personal opinion and WP:OTHERCONTENT arguments which of themself carry little or no weight unless the argument establishes best practice, which itself is a reflection of the prevailing P&G (eg WP:AT). WP:RMCI would state: If objections have been raised, then the discussion should be evaluated just like any other discussion on Wikipedia: lack of consensus among participants along with no clear indication from policy and conventions normally means that no change happens (though like AfD, this is not a vote and the quality of an argument is more important than whether it comes from a minority or a majority).
WP:NHC also applies: A good closer will transparently explain how the decision was reached.
. Cinderella157 (talk) 02:12, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Cinderella157 As the RM was not relisted before my close, I have reverted the close and relisted it. Let's see what happens. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 07:10, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
Question from Devored (03:18, 29 December 2024)
Hello, I wish to add a collective noun to wiki. How does one go about doing this? --Devored (talk) 03:18, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Devored If you are looking to add words to a dictionary like wikipedia, then take a look at Wiktionary, a sister project of Wikipedia. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 05:22, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
I think that we should split this article soon. It is now too big. Pachu Kannan (talk) 13:59, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Added a comment confirming the date to split at from the participants. Please give your thoughts as well ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 14:08, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:BUAS Crest.png
Thanks for uploading File:BUAS Crest.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 16:07, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- CSDd per Author request, didn't no a duplicate exists. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 10:06, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
Could you elaborate on how you found a no consensus closure here please? It's 8 people in favor of moving and 4 against which, if you think Both sides have strong arguments
should translate by default into a consensus to move rather than no consensus. Thanks. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:07, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Pppery, thanks for the note. After taking a second look at the comments, I have reverted my close. It's bedtime, so I'll close it tommorrow, or else any other edit can close it sooner. Thanks again for bringing this up! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 16:42, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
About WP:AFC/R request
Hi, Bunnypranav, I see you recently approved few request at WP:AFC/R but you didn't add redirect category shell/template in the redirect page, the template is mendatory to add in the redirect for that reason which type of request you're appproved and which template you added in the redirect page;I hope next you try to adding redirect template during handle Afc requests on WP:AFC/R,Happy new year 2025 and just chill and enjoy you're pretty life. Happy editing!--- Bhairava7 • (@píng mє-tαlk mє) 18:22, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Bhairava7 While I do know that adding rcats is advised, it is not mandatory. I didn't find an rcat suitable for that redirect, hence did not specify any. If you see any template suitable, drop me a message or feel free to add it yourself. Thanks! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 02:58, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
