Thanks for the reward sir! Finals went well, and I'm glad the semester's over with. How's the Air Force treating you? Those stories are hilarious, thanks for the laughs. By the way, thank you for all the hard work you put in to the A&M articles. With the push for FA status, we can show the world what a fine institution A&M is.

Campus

So what do you think about creating the campus article? Look under "Residential life possibilities" to see what I'm talking about. BlueAg09 (Talk) 05:33, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Given our discussion on the Talk:B-1 Lancer page over the inclusion on the Boeing 2707, you might want to look at User talk:BillCJ#Related content (B-47). An long-time WP:AIR editor who took a nearly two-year hiatus is back, and wants to restrict the "related development" field to just immediately-related designs, per this diff. Thanks. - BillCJ 16:42, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

See Also Section

What section in WP:MoS concerns "See Also". Maybe we could define that section for articles that aren't another A&M article. -- Hut101 01:04, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

History Section

If you are talking about the discussion about how to word the sentence involving the number of Aggies serving in World War II, I agree with your new word choice. If you could back that up with some sort of article discussing the reasoning behind the formation of the Former Student Association as it relates to this particular issue that would be even better. -- Hut101 12:15, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Texas A&M

Sorry, I've been out of town since Friday, visiting an Aggie friend in Austin. It looks like you guys have done lots of work in my absence! I'm sorry if I was the one adding double spaces; I didn't mean to, which doesn't mean I didn't do it on accident. I've read through the article again and added my signoff to several sections. I thought the article was in great shape before you kicked off this round of changes, but I am wowed now. This is an extremely thorough article, without a lot of unnecessary detail, and it reads very well. I also took a look through the FA criteria on our subpage again, and it looks like we've covered everything. I only had one question -- Reference 84 points to Keepers of the Spirit, but it doesn't look like the citation is complete (no page number, author name, etc). Other than that, I think we are ready for FA submission :). Will you do the honors, please? Karanacs 01:37, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

I think we are doing really well. We got two people in support of us so far. we are only 5000 bites longer then duke, but we are a whole university system and are significantly larger population and landwise. I think the extra 5000 bites is jusitified. Howdy! First of, I on behalf of the editors of the Texas A&M University page would like to thank you for taking the time to peer review our page. We have made a whole lot of changes since the last peer review. We have obtained good article status, and we are a FA nominee. We were just wondering if you could give us a few more comments because of the enormous amount of changes we have made. Thank you so much for your help. As we say at our school Thanks, and Gig em Oldag07 02:39, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Do you have any ideas of who else to message up? I want to get this FA thing done. we already have had 4 people in support our nomination no people opposing it. Oldag07 02:39, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Just be patient, Raul will close it shortly especially as its been reviewed and you've addressed issues when asked. There really isnt any need to chase further opinions whether you have 4 or 40 comments all supporting its still a consensus. Gnangarra 11:34, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the information, not being from the "states" there are somethings especially with the school system that I know very little beyond the media interpretations. The advantages in that is when reviewing unexplained and local terminology stand out. 12th Man pic

Isn't the picture a bit too large? What do you say if we remove it for now, and I retake a better shot once I return to Aggieland and upload it on June 3rd? I think the picture we have now is fine on the 12th man article, but probably not on the A&M article as it takes up a lot of room. I actually had the original picture deleted on Wikicommons since copyrighted stuff isn't allowed on there. Then I accidentally deleted it...D'oh! BlueAg09 (Talk) 08:37, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

This has been an extremely difficult month, in the wake of my sister's passing, and I cannot tell you how much it meant to me, how reassuring, it was when I got home from the two week roadtrip to Florida and South Carolina, to find that an un-acquaintance, only known through the magic of the web, had left such a thoughtful and kind message.

Texas A&M University and vacations

Hi BQ. I just wanted to let you know that I probably won't be around to help much with the A&M article for the next two weeks. My husband and I are taking a long-overdue toddler-free vacation and most likely won't be near a computer. I had hoped that our FA status would have been decided one way or another by now, but at least there doesn't seem to be a lot of requested changes anymore, which is probably a good thing. I'll probably be spending a little bit of time online this weekend, but then that will be it until about June 18th. Good luck with the article and I'll be checking in again when I get back :) Karanacs 15:43, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Question

I don't know if you play video games, but I said in the article if you lose, you restart. How excatly do I reference that? I have heard of referencing the game itself, but I've only done that once before quite a while ago, and I don't remember how. Otherwise I don't know many people who would challenge "the player must retire and restart the race." Do you think I should reference the game anyway?--Clyde (talk) 04:48, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

9/11 conspiracy talk page

Sorry this took so long to get back to you. I guess it's a judgement call...talking about how issues fit into the article is one thing but just arguing over how steel reacts to fires is a little off topic (as regards to the article). We're not trying to come to any conclusions about that kind of research, all we should be talking about is how/if some research fits into the article. I know it can be a little bit of a grey area but those pages go sideways so often sometimes it's good to just nip it in the bud...I don't do it too often though! Thanks for the note. RxS 15:54, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

The Penn and Teller thing is great, I first saw it on The West Wing of all places. As far as I'm concerned, it says all there needs to be said about what Freedom of Speech really means and should be required viewing for all Americans. As far as the other thing, maybe I should rephrase it. We shouldn't be debating how steel reacts in different environments, we should be debating what reliable and verifiable sources say about how steel reacts. That's the crucial difference: one is debating and judging what belongs in an encyclopedia, the other is what amounts to original research where we all chime in on how we think material would have acted under the circumstances. Anyway, I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I saw it when I closed that section. RxS 04:51, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Nope, it wasn't altered. The web page did show it as a "W" but has apparently since been corrected. I made the screen capture myself using SnagIt 8, which accounts for the nifty torn edges. I would have taken the whole page but it's too long and I didn't want to piece it together and shrink it. The only modifications I made were pasting in the page's address and putting the red box around the point of interest. What's the significance of the Unicorn painting that this guy keeps adding to the A&M article? He says it's not trivia, but it certainly looks like it in the context of the article? Re: WP:TAMU statistics help

Hi – Have patience, my young Aggie padawan.

'Article Statistics' links to a summary page by quality at Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team. Every WikiProject with stats links to that page. Since your project is new, WP 1.0 bot hasn't had a chance to update it yet. Tag some talk pages and wait – it only updates our stats every two weeks so it will probably be a week or more before you get an update on the main project page. Check the deletion log. The explanation is right there. --Closedmouth 05:01, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

FTAB

I changed to support -- thanks for being so quick with the changes I requested. I hope you don't think I'm too picky, but I'm part of the Wikiproject Biography so I tend to be a stickler for the naming rules. You did a great job on the article--I learned things about the band that I didn't know. As for my vacation, my lips are sealed, but thanks for asking ;) Karanacs 20:30, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

List of A&M people

Hi BQ, I was wondering if you could help me out on the lead in the List of Texas A&M University people article. Is there anything in the lead that is missing or can be expanded on more? BlueAg09 (Talk) 21:10, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Congratulations

Congratulations -- that was a very short FA review!!!  :) Karanacs 18:56, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Congratulations on Fightin' Texas Aggie Band making FA status. I did look a thte article, but given Alan's (Akredeki) comments, had nothing new to add. Btw, if you need voluteers to read the article to past and present band members, I'd be happy to help. :) - BillCJ 19:54, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Congrats on 2 Aggie FA's

Congrats on getting the A&M and Fightin' Texas Aggie Band both up to FA status. As you have probably noticed, I have not been around much in the past few weeks. Off-wiki stuff just keeps interfering! I hope to be around more soon to admire your great work! Johntex\talk 21:46, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Congrats and you're welcome for the assistance. --Claygate 22:31, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Yea

I am trying to back off wikipedia too. i got a summer job, and really i just need some change in my life. I am in a funk good luck with everything. see ya. Oldag07 21:56, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

i think you should post this on the band page: {{featured article}} this template gives you the star on the article. Oldag07 22:01, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

First off:

  • The bot updates the infobox, we update the page. I was the privileged one who put up the star on the Texas A&M main page.
  • As for the articles that fall under the radar, That is what the project is for. if you have any articles that you feel need to be added add the wikiproject, and update the list. {{Wikiproject Texas A&M}}
  • One goal that our wikiproject could do is shoot for featured topic status. Only one university got that, Michigan State. The criteria seems to favor smaller topics. But we don't have to make all our articles FA's, it seems like most of the major articles must be GA'S.
  • Best of luck. Yea, i don't plan of being very active anymore. I had a lot of free time, so i got into it. I got ticked off by some of the comments on the UT page. Pretty much why i became a wikipedian. i guess i will take my name off the inactive list. I feel like I am letting everyone down, but yes. wikipedia, is a very low priority/ hobby of mine. although, wikipedia is a lot more enjoyable then texags. the company is worldsbetter. Unspecified source for Image:1st_Aggie_Band_1894.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:1st_Aggie_Band_1894.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:55, 19 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 22:55, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Barnstar

The Original Barnstar
For your great work and leadership in bringing the featured article status to the Texas A&M University and Fightin' Texas Aggie Band articles, I present you this fine barnstar. Claygate 23:19, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Karmichael Hunt

Congrats on your featured article.

On Karmichael Hunt, thanks for all your help. I may soon put this up for FAC but

I'm thinking about restructing the article, like on this page. (note it isn't formatted, etc.). Do you have an opinion or objection.

Could you reply on my talk page, as I will unlikely remember to look here. Thanks. SpecialWindler talk 06:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the kind words! ChrisTheDude 07:24, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Starting 2 core Texas A&M Pages

I created chimera test articles from different articles for new pages that I have suggested should we choose to go for the featured topic award. Most of what i did was copy and paste. none of the sections flow.

I need some suggestions on where to continue. especially on student life, although we could expand some of the colleges.

remember to get featured topic status just have to get them to GA status. i don't think these articles are FA type articles anyways. Thanks for your help. Oldag07 12:32, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Well i am trying to back off wikipedia too. but i will make contributions here and there.

  • Academics does not show distinctiveness very well, but It is probably the easier one of the two to write. it would allow us to put lot more information than cut during the fa nomination. see Michigan State University academics. it is a middle man type article. most of the information on it is already on Wikipedia. But it is disorganized. we probably couldn't make it an FA quality article, no. but it could be a solid GA article. featured topics seem to be more going for comprehensiveness over quality.

my free time just went down the drain too. back to the real world. Oldag07 23:18, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

btw, Good luck with pilot training. i am glad you are doing better medically. Oldag07 23:21, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
