- He's literally the highest ranking elected official in Erie County. His predecessor has a wikipedia page. BuffaloHist (talk) 02:26, 12 October 2023 (UTC)

- This person is the County Executive of Erie County which is the highest ranking elected office for one of the largest counties in New York State. It's geographic footprint includes the City of Buffalo which is the state's largest city as well as its surrounding communities. Its population is over 950,000 which makes it larger than 5 U.S. states and 71 nations (as per the wikipedia data). His office is significant and he is specifically referenced by name in the Erie County, New York wikipedia article. A click through to more information about him is both informative and necessary. While I appreciate that comparable offices having wikipedia pages is not enough on its own to justify his "notability," it does indicate that information on elected officials is notable and worthy of inclusion. To say that one elected office holder (i.e. Byron William Brown II ) is notable enough for a wikipedia page, but not the holder of the larger more prominent office in the same region, is a selective enforcement of the rules. - Sorry I meant, the state's second largest city. BuffaloHist (talk) 21:24, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Please read WP:NPOL which is our policy on notability for politicians. Then also read the WP:golden rule essay to understand where notability fits into our inclusion criteria. - UtherSRG (talk) 11:40, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- Based on those standards, he should be eligible. He's had significant media attention including national coverage from the Washington Post, CNN, and the New York Times as well as international coverage from the BBC and CNN international. If it was an issue of the sourcing, I am happy to edit and resubmit, however, all of the sources I provided were from reputable news outlets and were independently written over a period of 18 years.
