I guess the article you are referring to is: "2007 North Lebanon conflict". You did not put "</ref>" at the end of text (see you edit here). Mediawiki (software for wikipedia) recognises what is between "<ref>" and "</ref>" as footnote. See Help:Footnotes and Wikipedia:Footnotes for further help. For citing external sources try to follow wikipedia manual of style (WP:MOS), also visit Wikipedia:Citation templates. You may find this tool [1] useful.
