Request reason:
I was blocked from Wikpedia and Wikimedia because of a possible copyright violation. I am completely new to using Wikipedia and intentionally didnt do anything wrong. I work for the Iranian football club Rah ahan and wanted and needed to update our German and English Wikipedia entries. I uploaded our club logo of which we have the copyright of and also use a vpn client as it helps me to open certain websites which otherwise I cant do. I didnt know how to change the club logo, as the old one displayed on Wikipedia was outdated, so I uploaded our club logo to Wikipedia commons, thinking that this would be the correct way to do it and obviously it worked. I was not aware that I was not allowed to do so. I very kindly like to ask you to please unblock my account and get in contact with me, so this problem can be resolved. Apologies if I did something wrong and thanks for your help in advance
Decline reason:
Procedural decline; this account is not blocked. If you see a block message when you attempt to edit, please reproduce it here. VPNs are considered anonymizing proxies, though; they may be (and often are) routinely blocked because of the capacity for abuse. Editing without the VPN should be possible. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Regarding the club logo, the Wikimedia Commons accepts only freely licensed images, and I rather doubt the club wants to allow everybody to re-use and modify the logo for any purpose, including commercial purposes. We can make use of the logo under the doctrine of "fair use", but for that purpose it needs to be uploaded locally, with a rationale for why the use of the logo in the article in question indeed is "fair use". Using a logo to represent the entity in question generally is accepted as fair use, and the upload wizard will guide you on how to provide the required rationale. Huon (talk) 08:36, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
