[edit]Congratulations on having a prize winning salsa!! :) Any recipes that you can share? I make a tomato-free one myself with mango, red peppers, corn, and beans...mmmm... and as another thought, thank you so much for taking the time to go through the references carefully and thoroughly and for giving detailed rationale. Although I (clearly!) disagree with you about what constitutes local notability, I really appreciate AfD contributors who are doing more than firing off a Google search and really making the effort to dig up sources and evaluate the arguments. Your thoughtfulness has not gone unnoticed! All the best, ~Eliz81(C) 09:32, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Bschott said: Eliz, Thank you for the note and the kind words :-) I've had a rough day and if I seem snippy or abrupt, please forgive me. While I don't think the winery is locally notable, I do believe that I am still getting used to the 'locally notable' changes to policy. Oh, I have a reciepe for you actually:
Corn-n-Tomato Salsa
2 large tomatoes chopped into 1/8 inch squares (I don't seeded mine but you can if you like)
1 1/3 cup chopped red onion (Fresh is best!)
2 cups of fresh corn kernels (you can use frozen-thawed but I think fresh is the best)
1 cup fresh cilantro - chopped
a few fresh cilantro sprigs
4 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of ground cumin
2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice (I squeeze a fresh lemon for this)
1-2 jalapeño chilis - minced (I seed mine as I don't like very spicy salsa but you can leave in the seeds if you want the extra kick)
2 peeled and pitted avocados - chop them up really nice.
Take all these ingredients and mix them together in a large bowl. Cover it and chill for at least 30 minutes before you serve it.
- Brian, I'm so touched! Thanks so much for sharing this with me. I'll definitely make it in the next few days. I'm with you on the jalapeño seeds... too much heat can detract from the lovely flavors. Sometimes I add a few, but a little goes a long way. I'm so sorry to hear you've had a rough day comforts but please rest assured you've sounded neither snippy or abrupt at all. Kudos for the mind/typing control, it ain't always easy... thank goodness the things we yell at the screen don't end up on the site! :P I notice you linked AWB on your userpage, and I must say fixing typos is strangely calming. Order will prevail. Anyway I hope your day/night lightens up and if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. *hugs* ~Eliz81(C) 10:01, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- I just saw you changed your mind at the AfD. My first thought was a bit guilty!! I just wanted to assure you, inquiring after you and your prize winning salsa recipes was not an attempt to sway you or anything. That would be very silly on my part, but since you originally said "agree to disagree", I want to make sure I didn't accidentally influence you or something. I understand and accept your rationale for deletion, local companies are notoriously tricksy. Just making sure!! ~Eliz81(C) 10:28, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Bschott said: Eliz, oh no you don't need to feel guilty at all. I reviewed the information again, reviewed the current policies and found your point valid. You only influenced me by making me stop and review the policies again. As long as the an article meets all guidelines I have no problem with it. Article subjects must be verifiable (which it is), must be notable (which after review of the policies I believe it is), must not fall into any catagory listed in Wiki is not (and it doesn't). You changed my mind via evidence and a well thought out AFD reponse --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?) 10:47, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Brian, thank you so much! I've got access to all these full text newspaper archives at school, so I really try to make use of them to get those reliable sources out there. And your last message put my mind at ease. Here's to well thought out AfDs! ~Eliz81(C) 11:06, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Kardashev Scale
[edit]Hi, recently the Kardashev scale entry has gone through some major reverts, I'd like to talk about the reinstatement of the material. I've looked around and have seen that you've made some major contributions to the article and are interested in it's progress. I feel we need to talk about the reverts and reinstatement and talk about whether either are justified. Talk:Kardashev scale If you could help or add your two cents I'd really appreciate it. Thanks--Sparkygravity (talk) 01:48, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Is vs was
[edit]Please stop changing it to "was" on the Friends article. Ceasing production does not change whether or not the show exists, and it does in fact remain as an "is". This is just the same as a book that goes out of print. We wouldn't say "To Kill a Mockingbird was a book"; it's called historical present tense. Please revert your change. - auburnpilot talk 02:09, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- Since you already had made the revert, I'll decline. Beyond that, I'll have to say that your logic is riddled with biased falacy but concidering your edit and post history, it's not worth the effort in debating with you. --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?) 19:37, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
