[edit]hey, i obviously didn't go through the proper channels. very tired, totally uncalled for. I moved the list of notable people to the taylor page, since no encyclopedia would have a "list of taylor university people." if it was worth noting at all, it'd be in the taylor u page. unfortunately, the notability of many are debatable and unsourced, so i kept the notable alumni that had wiki articles. perhaps if you have the energy, could you perhaps facilitate the move? if you don't feel like it, i can do it later; i just need a short break. thanks for giving me the heads-up, it was rather inappropriate of me to just blank it all like that. - thanks; my recent inability to pay close attention to what i'm doing might mean i'll back off for a while, perhaps review more wikipedia guidelines before i do much more. if you see the rest of my talk page, you'll know what i'm talking about. mostly, i'm just interested in colleges and have tried to make my alma mater's article, among others, more informational AND encyclopedic, but perhaps i should just keep away, haha. hey i just posted some stuff on the merger discussion if you want to check it out. also check out the wikiproject for universities discussion. i'd welcome your feedback there, too! Aepoutre 19:12, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Responding: User Page
[edit]Hey! Not too bad. I'm learning a lot (as always). I really like getting feedback and advice from other users. Things like higher education and Christian organizations on wikipedia really fascinate me, or at least I like to improve their articles, haha. Things that are close to home, I guess. I'm adding an infobox to Nyack College right now, in fact. How about you? Aepoutre 19:57, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]I'd just like to welcome you to the Graphics Lab, after you signed your name on the project page! The page containing works in progress is Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/Images to improve. You said that you convert images to SVG, so you may be interested in Category:Images that should be in SVG format (Shortcut CAT:SVG) --Dave the Rave (DTR)talk 15:55, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

For my own records, possible future template...
[edit]This image is being worked on by the Graphics Lab. It is requested that this image not be deleted or removed until work in the graphics lab has been completed. This image may be vital to the success of the graphics lab to make an image which conforms to wikipedia policy, so that this image may be deleted as is intended.
This template will be removed when lab work is done.
Thank you for providing administrative services to Wikipedia. The image you deleted, :Image: was being worked on by the graphics lab in an effort to produce an image which conforms to wikipedia policy. We realize that :Image: did not conform to policy, but nonetheless it was one of the source images for this effort, and it may have been vital to our success. We ask that you check in the future if an image is linked to by the graphics lab, or if it has the glhangon tag before deleting it. Thanks, --BsayUSD [Talk] [contribs] 17:02, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Graphics Lab Announcement
[edit]Attention All Wikigraphists!
[edit]As you may or may have not noticed, the Graphics Lab pages have gone under a massive cleanup by User:DTR, User:Rugby471 and various others (sorry if I missed you out). Some of the things that have happened are.
- All pages in the Graphics Lab have had, where sensible, templates, substituting elements. For example, the main Lab page was a large chunk of around 100 lines of pure code. It was not very easy to edit the main page, so the various sections of it (eg links, welcome) have been separated. Therefore the main page is now only around 20 lines of user friendly text. If you wish to edit the main page, you must look on the main page for the correct template to edit. (Fore example if I wanted to edit the links section, I would go to Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/links and edit the text there). This has been done to all of the pages, in an attempt to make them more user-friendly.
- As you were notified of early, the Wikigraphist Abilities page has been set up and has been beginning to get populated. If you haven't already setup your own entry, you are advised to go and do so now.
- Due to a comment from User:DTR. A template for Graphics Lab announcements has been created. It is at Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/announcement. If you ever need to issue a message to Wikigraphists, please use this template in the form

Where message is the announcement you wish to issue.
- On the Images to Improve Page, an issue was noticed where that when requests were completed, people were adding Did but forgetting to add <!--werdnabot-archive--> so that the request would be archived. Therefore a template has been created (yes another one!) to help with this. When a user creates a new request instead of putting the usual code, they shall put
. Now when a request is completed, all you will have to do is change done to true
done=true
and the template will add the did template and also <!--werdnabot-archive--> to the title, so it will get archived.
As always, if you experience any issues with the new changes, or are just a bit confused, please don't hesitate to contact me or DTR on our talk pages.

Comparison of birth control methods
[edit]I appreciate your input on the comparison of birth control methods article - it's nice to see someone working on a relatively low-traffic page. On which sources are biased, I'm not sure we'll convince each other - I see cherry-picking of studies on the CCL site, and find Contraceptive Technology to be objective.
I am really looking forward to the twentieth edition of CT; I believe they will have a positive view of the recent Frank-Herrmann study (which was published after the current edition of CT) and the effectiveness rates in the comparison article will be updated then.
The sorting feature of the table requires that only one number be entered for effectiveness, and the consensus on the talk page seems to be to use the nineteenth edition CT numbers. The fertility awareness article shows a range of effectiveness and discusses that many studies have found effectiveness rates better than 1%.
If you'd like to pursue changing the comparison article, I encourage you to post on its talk page. That would allow other editors to give their input and avoids the appearance of you or I trying to "own" the article. LyrlTalk C 00:14, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
