Congratulations
I congratulate you on your becoming an administrator within the English Wikipedia, Bsadowski1! As a little housewarming gift while you settle into your new post, please allow me to present you with your very own cluebat.
Use it wisely, but please, do use it :) It will come in very handy... BarkingFish Talk to me | My contributions 23:27, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
- Despite my oppose, good luck. I think you'll be fine actually, but as I have learned the last 48hours, a few sentences of reasoning can save a lot of hastle. Let me know if I can ever be of assistance. Courcelles (talk) 00:19, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Proud to have voted for ya and dee-lighted to see you with the buttons. Congrats also on blocking your first sock, and it is good to know it won't be your last! Best wishes always, Jusdafax 04:32, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

You blocked this IP for 31 hours for vandalism. However, in view of the IP's post-block talk page edits[1][2][3], I think their talk page access also needs to be revoked. Nsk92 (talk) 07:27, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Re: LGBT attack
I am really keen to learn from such attacks. Do you know they are open proxies? If yes than how? I had no time to check for that and thus issued a standard hopping vandal block. Materialscientist (talk) 04:25, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- I believe they are web proxies judging by robtex. I don't know what started it though. --Bsadowski1 09:58, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- What is robtex? Materialscientist (talk) 10:01, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- It allows you to see the DNS information and if the IP hosts any websites. But sometimes it doesn't have it. It also allows you to see the CIDR range (sometimes useful for blocking). --Bsadowski1 10:04, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

I think this might be a sock of User:Shown Life. The user seems to be up to no good. Regards, P. D. Cook Talk to me! 18:16, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yup. It's clearly him again. Majorclanger (talk) 18:30, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- And while I've got you on the line, can you look at this one as well. I'm personally 98% sure it's a "good hand" account (he's had others), but it's nowhere near as obvious as most of the others. Majorclanger (talk) 18:37, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- I will have to think on that one, since it's not that obvious, though sharing some interests with the others. --Bsadowski1 08:03, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- A little background and extra info. The account in question was created July 19 and immediately created a user page identical to mine on minimalist one. On July 20, user Majorclanger Jr. popped into existence, and soon thereafter created a user page almost identical to mine. This account was quickly blocked as a sock of the same guy that you've been repeatedly blocking. I found BookDen after performing a search on substrings of the text on my user page. Since it was identical and recently created, and created at roughly the same time of day as the other sock accounts, I've been keeping an eye on it. I doesn't seem to have been used for vandalism, but this guy has used clean account and IPs before (most obviously 24.44.119.71. The storm of edits over the weekend matches closely when the vandal accounts were online, and often the edits appear in contiguous blocks, which could well indicate switching between them. It's all circumstantial, I confess, but it's certainly suggestive. I just need to bite the bullet at some point and put a SPI case together. Majorclanger (talk) 14:11, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

- Bsadowski1, Do not block me from editing, I apologize. I'm sorry. Can you forgive me. Final Life (talk) 18:39, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
Got your message
Thanks for letting me know. I left word for you at Simple as well. I've gone ahead and blocked that range over here for a year and Eflightwiki for five years. I'm still considering a proposal to simply place a permanent ban on all this guy's IPs since all are public terminals and no good has ever come out of them. Someone wants to edit this site, they go buy a computer and internet access. Just my $.02. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:30, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Re: Note
Re your message: Ah, so I see. Prodego and I were trying to fix up a filter at the same time. If you look at the change log, we were busy saving at the same time. My new filter has already been disabled, so we're good now. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:41, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- See the WP:ANI thread about the false positives. All fixed though. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:51, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Hardblocks
Would you mind hardblocking open proxies, otherwise the socks get on them. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 20:36, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Fancy running into you here...
Still no shortage of idiots on the interwebz, eh? :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:34, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Nope, and they keep coming :/ --Bsadowski1 01:36, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Tell me about it. Our favorite headache is pretty much shut down except for one Wikia project and I've e-mailed Wikia and "Fr33kman" regarding a global block. Coming up on a week now. Oh the fun! The saving grace is, he's not exactly a happy camper and he's lashing out in desperation in his inimitable, semi-literate style. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:40, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
I just blocked this user, who was impersonating you. Thought I would give you a heads up. NW (Talk) 15:01, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Still here 4 ever
I was considering suggesting they might be a sock (a name like that is sort of a giveaway) but didn't want to seem to be fishing. I was only drive-by reverting as it is. HalfShadow 21:41, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- It's an obvious sock of a sockpuppeteer that likes those articles he edited. There's a SPI for him actually. --Bsadowski1 21:46, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Here's another one for you: User:Parden not granted Fire at will and all that. HalfShadow 22:01, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Congrats
I can't believe I found out just today. I remembered you telling me in irc that you weren't an admin, and thus I never bothered you about admin stuff. Now I know that you just became one recently; so congrats :D. I'll probably be bothering you about sock blocks now :D? — Dædαlus Contribs 22:59, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
