Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, BruseB, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Waste management

[edit]

As part of your edits to Waste management, you added bolding and other formatting. This is inconsistent with the norms for Wikipedia articles as set out in the manual of style. I am aware that highlighting and bolding of text is an accepted norm for US students even to the extent of highlighting text in text books. The fact that this is perceived as a scholarly faux-pas and a desecration in Europe and other parts of the world might be one reason why Wikipedia has adopted the stance it has. If you have a look at other articles, you will not see gratuitous bolding, so please don't add it here. Many thanks  Velella  Velella Talk   23:08, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
