The article Xyztrader has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hi Brown12321, I've been watching the Xyztrader debate with some interest (& I was one of the nominators for deletion). The first appearance of the article looked very much like a spam entry, so was jumped on - you wouldn't believe how many spam entries there are in Wikipedia! Your recreation was much better, but I recommended it for deletion because it was an article for a company that didn't assert the importance of the company. You're right that eBay has an article (& it's not necessarily as neutral as it should be, but that's another issue), but eBay is a recognised worldwide phenomenon; definitely notable. But it wasn't clear from the article that Xyztrader counts as notable from a Wikipedia point of view - see Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) for more information on what we want. Some of us are sometimes a little zealous in deleting articles - my recommendation is to sit down & draft a good version of the article that clearly covers the notability guidelines, and then submit it again (or, decide that it doesn't really warrant a Wiki article & hold back). But don't be scared from contributing. Hope that helps, Canthusus 20:49, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
