COI disclosed
[edit]Thank you for disclosing your conflict of interest as CEO of ChallengePost.
Note that this in no way disqualifies you from contributing to the article. The guideline does require disclosure, and say you are "strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly". In my experience this is often seen as impractical and unnecessary! Please try to discuss changes on the talk page first if in any doubt, but if there's no response (as is often the case) and you're confident that your changes will improve the article... well, it's only a guideline!
Or feel free to give me a heads-up on my user talk page. Always glad to help, as are many other volunteers. You just need to get our attention.
You are doing the right thing. Thanks again. Andrewa (talk) 05:24, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
- response - i have no idea how to use Wikipedia -- Thanks for the note Andrew. I went back and saw the conversation on the page move from ChallengePost to Devpost, and someone said it needs more sources. I have no idea how to add those, given wikipedia requires complex syntax just to say something, so I'm saying it here with the hope you can add it. Two more sources: http://www.zdnet.com/article/the-most-popular-technologies-at-student-hackathons/ and https://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=60805310. Not to mention the site redirects. Can you help? Thanks. Brooklyndd (talk) 05:47, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
- There is something of a learning curve certainly. I and many other editors have an email link enabled, so perhaps it would be easier for everyone if you used those instead. That way you don't need to struggle with things you don't understand. Best. Andrewa (talk) 04:11, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
