[edit]Hello, I'm Oshwah. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Chad Copeland— because it did not appear constructive. Hello Oshwah,
I'm trying to find a way to communicate. Please read my response to Dan just below this. I left a message on your page and haven't heard back and am wondering if I did it correctly.
My message: Thank you very much for your message. This is my first page creation and I think that I navigated to a different "Chad Copeland" than the one I was intending to edit. I created a page "Chad Edward Copeland" and was trying to remove the "Edward" as the world knows "Chad Copeland" as the National Geographic photographer. <https://natgeocreative.com/photography/chadcopeland> All of this being learned on the fly, how do I create a page for the Photographer. I now know, through Administrator Oswah, that I was changing data on a basketball player that played 30-40 years ago and that was not my goal. I navigated to "Chad Copeland" who I was creating and pasted the code I was working on inadvertently.
Ultimately, I need to create a page for "Chad Copeland" with this to start. Then I can follow up with the references which I'm working on!
Also, how do you remove the "Draft" on a page being created?
Thank you very much for your help! I was excited about my first creation then I messed up some poor guys page! Thank you, Brooke

Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Brooke Copeland, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Dan D. Ric (talk) 23:47, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Brooke Copeland. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Chad Copeland (Photographer), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Reb1981 (talk) 01:33, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

- Yes, Please DELETE Chad Edward Copeland** The correct profile that needs to remain on Wikipedia is Chad Copeland (Photographer). I have updated citations and removed all disambiguous links as directed. His IMDB has been linked as well.
Thank you for your help and time on this page. I have come across a plethora of pages that have 404 links and little to no notoriety and I understand how challenging it probably is to maintain a site this impressive. Everyone I know uses Wikipedia to learn more about questions they have.
I look for any further direction you may have and I'll address in immediately.
Best,

While Google searching for "Chad Copeland" I have come across roughly 27 different people including a character from Police Academy (film)[1]. Chad Copeland (Photographer) provides acute information to the photographer and should remain on this site because he is a known professional in the film industry. I found Chad Copeland the basketball player whose page is very limited on citations, void of a photo and was active before most people knew what the internet was. There are many pages that parallel the basketball players incomplete page. I have made a few minor edits to Chad Copeland (Photographer) page. It looks very close to being complete. What needs to be done at this point to complete Copeland-Photographer profile and remove the article from being considered for deletion?
