- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and and result in your account being blocked.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. [edit]Just like to say thanks for the great work you did on the thoughtless article, I cleaned it up but didnt expect it to have soooo much work done on it. Well done --Childzy talk contribs 21:31, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
How can I edit that box on the bottom?
[edit]Can anybody tell me how can I edit the contents of that box with singles, members, albums, etc.? I ask for it, because I created some articles for singles, but the names are different, i.e "Shoots and Ladders" while in this box is "Shoots & Ladders" (which isn't actual title). Thanks in advance
Find it here Template:Korn, when you edit it they all update, i should have said when i made but you know now. Also remeber to sign your post by putting ~~~~ after your comments --Childzy (Talk|Contribs) 10:38, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:Jonathan Davis (426).jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Jonathan Davis (426).jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Image:Jd giger mic stand.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Jd giger mic stand.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- ˉˉanetode╦╩ 20:54, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Image:Jonnysiek.jpg listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Jonnysiek.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. —ˉˉanetode╦╩ 18:13, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Note
[edit]Do not tag content dispute edits as minor. Do not impersonate admins by placing protection notices on pages. Both are these are considered, if not vandalism, at the very least impolite. User:Logical2uTalk 00:53, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Korn
[edit]This revision I used is much more complete, why do you maniacally remove semi-protection? My revision features associated acts, dates of affiliation with record companies and improved style about David's hiatus...why bother changing? Broken soul 00:54, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Do you really expect other editors to pick your more worthwhile additions from blatant misconduct (like adding semi-protection to articles without being an administrator)? - Cyrus XIII 01:03, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Chillout, dude...Is it really worth it? Okay, mea culpa, I didn't know about the fact that semi-protection should by applied by administrators only , and sorry about my comments, it's 2:10 am, a little bit late, and by the way: this article is very important to me, I put an effort in spending enormous ammount of time in order to keep this article and every related one updated and well-stocked. Broken soul 01:12, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I see your point and I can certainly relate, so I will offer you a word of advice: No matter how much effort and time goes into your contributions, you should also consider that your dedication could be held against you in disagreements. Take a look at WP:OWN, you'll see what I mean. Now, I am pretty sure, that most Wikipedia editors who work on music-related articles do so out of personal affection for the respective music and the artists behind it. But in order to create sophisticated articles for the general purpose encyclopedia that is Wikipedia, one has to take personal preferences and fandom out of the equation. Ask yourself the following, just as an example: Why did you bold the alternate typesetting for Korn (the one with the reverted R), in order to improve the article for the general public or because you like the real spelling better as a fan of the band? Have a good night. - Cyrus XIII 01:41, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hehe, no, I just thought it would be catching more attention, and it looks more aesthetic. Personally, I don't prefer backward "R" (it may be confusing in searching articles using ctrl-f), it's just an imitiation of a logo Personally, I'm into completely other music right now, but this one is the band I'm still keen on news, and like editing stuff about them, and I see your point about getting rid of personal affection...Ok, goodbye as well :) Broken soul 01:46, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Template User: Blade Runner
[edit]Hi there, regarding the template you have created. The image Image:Blade Runner poster.jpg is copyrighted and can only be used on Wikipedia where it comes under fair use. It can only be legally used in the article about Blade Runner. Adambro 19:09, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Jonathan Davis photo
[edit]Let it go. Repeatedly removing an appropriate free-licensed photograph, much less the only free photograph readily available, is vandalism. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 00:51, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- There is no war, there is nothing to prove. I am enforcing Wikipedia policy. If you upload an adequate free-license alternative, you would be more than welcome to use it. Continually uploading copyrighted and unsourced images, even going so far as to do so on commons, is not the way to go. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 22:54, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- I scour flickr for free-use photographs to upload to Wikimedia Commons. Once upon a time I came accross a good quality, high resolution photograph of Johnathan Davis. This is how I came accross his article. I have no particular positive or negative feelings about this musician and I am not trying to offend you. If you come accross articles that have replaceable fair use photographs of living persons, please tag these images with {{subst:rfu}}. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 23:08, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- Your english is really good for a non-native speaker. Anyway I agree with you that Wikipedia policy pages can be a daunting and sometimes confusing read. Here's a breakdown of image use policy:
- There are two kinds of photographs on Wikipedia: free-use and fair use.
- Free-use photographs must be under a license that allows modification and redistribution. That means that anyone can take a free-use photo from, say, Commons, and use it in any way they see fit, including editing it in photoshop and even selling it for profit. Examples of free use licenses include the GFDL, Creative Commons (as long as the image is not tagged with "no-derivatives" or "non-commercial use only"), and the public domain.
- Fair use images are those under copyright, these are often tagged with "All rights reserved". This means that the person who created an image has not given permission to modify and redistribute their work. If these images are used on Wikipedia, their use infringes on the rights of others and may, in fact, be illegal. Because of this, fair use images are only used in cases where no free-use alternatives can be created. That is why fair use photographs of existing buildings and living people are not allowed.
- Wikipedia has a policy of neutrality. This means that Wikipedia may not be used to disparage or defame a person, but there is no stance on public image. If a free-use photograph adequately portrays the likeness of its subject, it may be used. That picture of Johnathan Davis is certainly not the most flattering photograph ever taken of him, but it does identify him.
- Almost any photographs that you take, as long as it is not a derivative work, you have the right to publish under a free-license. Please upload these directly to the Wikimedia Commons. Alternately, if you are trying to find a free-use image, there are a number of Wikipedia:Free image resources.
- That about covers it, good luck! ˉˉanetode╦╩ 23:41, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Kornmtvunplugged.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Kornmtvunplugged.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Proposed deletion of Template User:Blade Runner
[edit]An article that you created, Template User:Blade Runner, has been proposed for deletion, for the following reason:
- Unencylopedic content; appears to have been created in the wrong place. Duplicate of correctly named page at Template:User Blade Runner; redirect undesirable
Wikipedia has standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia – such as content more suited to a directory or social networking website – is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.
You are welcome to improve the article to meet these standards and remove the deletion notice. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion; note that in this case, the article may be discussed further at Articles for deletion. Thanks – Qxz 06:02, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry if I was a bit vague. What I mean is that you accidentally created two pages. Unfortunately I misspelt the name of the second page myself, so that was probably a little difficult to see. Anyway, you created these pages:
- As you can see, the page names have the colon in a different place. What this means is that while the first one is a template, the second is an article and won't actually work as a template, because it doesn't start with "Template:". If there was only the misnamed page, I'd move it to the correct name, but since an identical template already exists at the correct name, the misnamed copy isn't a lot of use. Named as it is, it's technically an article rather than a template – which makes it subject to the usual artcile content policies, which as a userbox it obviously doesn't meet. Hence why I proposed it for deletion – the deletion won't affect users of the template in any way, because everyone (including you) is using the correctly-named version. Hope this clears things up – Qxz 16:55, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Re: if...then...
[edit]That depends on how you are using it in the article. If the photograph is placed adjacent to some critical commentary on the recording of Davis' new album, then you would have a strong fair use claim. I don't know if it would get deleted, and I can't guarantee that it won't, but your fair use rationale appears fine. Try it out ˉˉanetode╦╩ 20:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Korn-ywas.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Korn-ywas.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:28, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Korn live dvd.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Korn live dvd.gif.

[edit]I have tagged Image:WorkhorseRGB.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 20:41, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, this is Snoddy from norwegian wikipedia. In the norwegian wikipedia, we have this competition, kind of like the english wp's Danny's contest. In that competition, I'm competiting with the article no:Korn (band) (the same as the en, wp's korn). There you have uploaded the picture locally, and I want to ask you if you can upload it on wikipedia commons? Please do so or contact me on my norwegian user talk page any time. 81.167.3.234 12:24, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Zacbaird.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Zacbaird.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 17:47, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi, thank you for your comments. I used to have the game before it got lost in a move. Being a DOS game, it is unlikely to get it working on current PCs, unless a DOS emulator or something is used. Alas, I have no online messaging account (nor intend to get one for personal reasons). Several online communities consider the game abandonware (due to Games Workshop and Electronic Arts stopping publishing of the game, and not pursuing continuation of the series). As such, it is featured in those communities which can be Googled. Note that being considered abandonware by several communities has no bearing on the legal status of the game's ownership. Korn Project
[edit]Collaboration of Punks
[edit] HEY HO, LET'S GO!!! Punk rockers—As you know, the Ramones are undeniably the first punk rock band, so it is vital to this genre that we collaborate to improve their scope! So far, I have worked on the band's first three albums, and it would be awesome if all the punks on Wiki would aid in expanding/cleaning the Ramones articles. You can see my progress here. Please fellow fans, do this for the old-school punk. CrowzRSA 17:15, 9 February 2014 (UTC) |

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
