Everything you need to know
[edit]Please read Wikipedia:Everything you need to know. Now, this is only the beginning so don't take it very seriously. All I want you to do is skim through it. You are not going to get tested on this so just read what interests you. Reply after you had skimmed through the article. Thanks, and remember, if you have any questions, just ask me below.TheQ Editor (Talk) 22:26, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
- @TheQ Editor: I have skimmed the article above. Thank you for the great information! Brmedia 22:45, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
Step 1
[edit]Now, for the real stuff. I would suggest you read over this and this first and configure Twinkle if you hadn't already. TheQ Editor (Talk) 02:25, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Questions
[edit]If you have any questions, you can post them below.TheQ Editor (Talk) 02:25, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- @TheQ Editor: How do I enable Twinkle? It says to go to Gadgets then turn the service on, but when I go to Gadgets, there is no option for Twinkle. Do you know what I did wrong (if I did), or if I missed something? Thank you, Brmedia 02:55, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- @Brmedia: That would be my fault. To enable Twinkle, you must be autoconfirmed. And to be autoconfirmed, you must be on Wikipedia for 3 days and make 10 edits. So after 1 more day, you should be able to enable Twinkle. Sorry for not noticing that.TheQ Editor (Talk) 12:48, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you! Brmedia 13:37, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- @TheQ Editor: I'm not sure...is today three days? And it says I have 171 edits...hmm. Thanks! Brmedia 14:32, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Task
[edit]After you had read over the given links. Consider the following tasks.TheQ Editor (Talk) 02:25, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- Tag 10 articles for anything using Twinkle. See Special:NewPages for new pages.
- Welcome 3 new users with Twinkle. See Special: log/newusers for new users.
- Send a Talkback linking to this page to me stating that you completed all the tasks. (Also using Twinkle)
@TheQ Editor: Tagged 10 articles, welcomed 3 users, and sent a talkback to your page linking to here. Thanks! Brmedia
- @Brmedia: I saw you tagged 10 tags in 8 articles, that is okay. What I'm concerned about is the Speedy Deletion process. But you did the right thing about being bold. This task was only for you to familiarize youself with Twinkle. Now, moving on to the next task. (bottom of page)

This time, after you pick, and if I hadn't replied yet in 3 days (as I am on vacation), please do me a favor. You could...
- Do the tasks provided at the bottom of the page of each lesson. Do the tasks and post any questions on another user's talk page. Lixxx235 could do. Yunshui and Strike Eagle could help too.
- Ask another Adopter to adopt you.
Be sure to wait 3 days, cause I'm pretty sure I'll be up and editing once I've recovered from my airplane ride to China. I'm only worried about the internet issues or I can't access Wikipedia. Thanks, TheQ Editor (Talk) 16:44, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Questions
[edit]Task
[edit]Explain copyright in your own words:
A:Basically, Copyright is protection to the respective owners of whatever item is concerned (for example, an image). If the image was created more than 150 years ago, or if it just was a picture from a idea from my head, it is available for use in Wikipedia. Now, on the other hand, if the image is a screenshot of the newest Doctor Who title theme, it may not be available for use, or it could be used only in Wikipedia if it meets certain criteria. Free images are images that are permitted in Wikipedia that meet certain criteria (it is in the public domain-about 150 years, or the owner provided free license) and complement the article it is in. Non-free images are images that are restricted from use in Wikipedia (unless it meets certain criteria).

Vandalism
[edit]@Brmedia: Vandalism is a tough subject to learn. There are many different aspects to it. Perhaps the trickiest. We won't go through it very thoroughly in the Adoption program. That's what the Counter Vandalism Unit Academy is for. I also have a Counter Vandalism Unit Academy too. You can enroll if you want, but that is only if you are interested.
Anyways, the important stuff. I would want you to read over WP:Vandalism and understand WP:VANDTYPES and WP:VANDNOT. After, I would want you to point out any questions and do the Task.TheQ Tester (talk) 03:43, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
