Edits on Jewish hip hop
[edit]- Articles like this are meant to be an overview, citing the most notable developments and examples of the topic rather than every single thing associated with it. From the sources you've linked it seems like this Moshe Reuven meets WP:BAND and would be eligible for an article, but you still need to write the article first, not to mention include him in a way that indicates why he would be relevant to the larger topic beyond just being a Jewish rapper. (The sentence you originally included him in was specifically about Hasidic rappers of the late '00s and early '10s, whereas he seems to be a newer rapper; it would be more accurate to note him as the first Hasidic rapper signed to a major label, for instance.)
- Heshy Fried is a notable Jewish commentator (besides being a noted Jewish blogger, he's written for The Jewish Press and Heeb), but also the point of his inclusion is not him being an authoritative voice on the genre; it's to provide an example of a notable figure voicing a negative opinion of Jewish hip hop from outside the community, in accordance with WP:NPOV. You are not obligated to agree with the opinion he offers for him to be a valid inclusion.

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Moshe Reuven. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox.
Also, please be very cautious about calling another editor a vandal as that can be construed as a personal attack, though I don't think that was your intent. See Wikipedia's definition of vandalism. Cleaning up an article of WP:CITEKILL, removing unsupported claims, promotional language and tagging it with issues is not vandalism. S0091 (talk) 18:43, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I went ahead and cleaned it up for you. if you find any statements needed to be cleaned up, please do. Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 18:55, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- hi was not intending to attack you. i apologize. but please edit whatever u felt was promotional. both those editors, ending up changing some of the verbiage to avoid any statements that seemed too out there. They had agreedthat was the best way to change that. other than that to not address the edits needed and just put a template, although u may not be aiming to vandalize, its like vandalism as you couldve just edited those sentences you were referring to. did not mean it as a personal atatcka nd just meant you were unintentionally doing it. Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 18:55, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- as stated above, the entire article has been edited many times, and you can simply make an edit to avoid speech that seems grandiose, rather than simply putting a template that hurts the credibility of the page. Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 18:57, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- You need to stop suggesting anything I did was vandalism. Given you are the top editor of the article, just like any other editor, it is your responsibility to ensure to content you are adding meets Wikipedia's polices and guidelines. While I did do some cleanup, there are still issues which is why I added the maintenance tags (i.e. the tags exist for a reason and are used through the encyclopedia). Please also read WP:CITEKILL. Generally only one or maybe two sources are needed to support of fact so use the best one or two. You might also find this list and this list of some common sources and their reliability because several of the sources used in the article are not reliable, such as NY Post, Metro, Chabad, Kworb, etc. S0091 (talk) 19:17, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I didn't make the page and I do add edits from time to time. Why is metro and ny post and chabad not reliable sources? NYPost even has its own wikipedia page. Theres about 80 reliable sources on the page. If you need to remove kworb that makes sense. If there's a valid reason to remove the metro source, please do. Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 19:21, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- A publication having its own Wikipedia page has nothing to with its reliability. Like I said, please refer to the lists (ex. WP:METRO). S0091 (talk) 19:24, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- ok I do see metro is not accepted by wiki and will remove it. Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 19:25, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- and ny post Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 19:26, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- kworb I can find the chart on Spotify charts site Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 19:26, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I reverted your last edit because you shouldn't change posts after they have been responded to outside of minor copy editing, see WP:TALK#REPLIED. I know you did not mean any harm just like you did not mean any harm in referring to my edits as vandalism. I do appreciate you taking on board feedback and engaging in constructive discussion. S0091 (talk) 19:42, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- yes, glad we settled this in a pleasant way, feel free to reach out if you have any more things you think need to be improved. and yes was editing cause I had took off metro and nypost. forgot that NYpost was on that list and I do recall Metro being there, but also wasn't sure. Thanks again Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 19:44, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

- I'm sorry for suggesting u meant vandalism. I do see you meant to just edit it to sound more natural. Please make any edits u think are required, but a tag is not necessary as the entire thing does not read in a grand way, I did the edits you suggest I do Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 19:22, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

July 2024
[edit]You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Slavery in ancient Egypt. Doug Weller talk 10:38, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
- I can find sources for that. to claim that most scholars believe jews were not slaves in Egypt is quite insane and stuff that makes people feel negatively about wikipedia when its such an essential part of the Bible/Torah. happily willl add sources that show that recently more archaeological evidence has been found to support that. Apologies I didn't write a source! I didnt' write much of anything, I deleted a sentence and replaced one word! Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 19:53, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
- especially on this slaves in Egypt wikipedia page that says the page needs better sources to begin with Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 19:57, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
- additionally the article that was sourced is a secular israeli that has an incentive for making such statements because where he lives and the sociopolitical implications on the environment when it comes to believing in or not believing in the Bible. Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 20:15, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
- If you can find sources take them to the talk page, don’t reinstate your edit. Doug Weller talk 20:43, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

FORBES
[edit]See the entry at WP:RSNP and what it says about contributors. Doug Weller talk 20:46, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
- "Context matters tremendously, and some sources may or may not be suitable for certain uses depending on the situation. " This is what that entry says.
- and I said contextually that is a secular israeli making a comment of skepticism on the Bible to help his own personal beliefs feel grounded Bringinglightandfixingissues (talk) 21:12, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
DO NOT CHANGE OTHER EDITORS'S POSTS AS YOU DID TO MINE
