[edit]- "overseas markets were closed to shipping" why? Which ones? Is this just a repetition of the following sentence? Oreo Priest talk 21:55, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
- "[Leopold II] launched a personal venture to colonise the Congo river basin in central Africa, without the backing or support of the Belgian state." Compare with Leopold_II_of_Belgium#Congo_Free_State: "The Belgian government lent him money for this venture." Oreo Priest talk 22:09, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
- "Supported only by the POB..." is this the Belgian Labour Party? The abbreviation hasn't been introduced and is not clear. Oreo Priest talk 00:48, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- "a Liberal majority government under Walthère Frère-Orban succeeded in passing an Education Act secularizing primary education across the country for the first time" Neither this sentence nor the article on the First Schools' War makes it clear what was going on beforehand or what exactly the problem was. More specifically: what exactly was the situation before the Education Act, after it and after the new education law? Oreo Priest talk 01:20, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- There's a general lack of consistency - the same party is referred to as the Socialist Party, the Belgian Worker's Party and the POB. The middle option is probably best, as the first is anachronistic, and the third is a) not clear in English and b) not language-neutral. Oreo Priest talk 02:00, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- "In 1902 and 1913, the POB called two unsuccessful general strikes in an attempt to end the system of plural voting." I'm not sure if you want to keep this, as it's mentioned in more detail in the next section. Oreo Priest talk 02:17, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- "Under the influence of pro-militarist lobbying, expansion and further reform of the army was discussed in the parliament in 1912 when a new system of universal military conscription was adopted." On the page Remplacement, it says 1913. Oreo Priest talk 02:19, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- That's careless of me, I've fixed it - thanks! I'll try and get through the other points in the next couple of days. Thanks again for your work!Brigade Piron (talk) 06:31, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

- The introduction is almost entirely about wars and kings. I know you're into that, but it should have a broader scope. Oreo Priest talk 17:14, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- I wonder if the Francization of Brussels should be mentioned briefly in the Language division section. Aside from that, I've gone over everything and I think it looks good! I'll keep watching this page and take a look over whatever else you add or change. Cheers, Oreo Priest talk 18:49, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
- I noticed you've manually specified the image sizes in pixels. This is something of a no-no; WP:IMGSIZE says "do not define the size of an image unless there is a good reason to do so". That page gives a good explanation of why. Oreo Priest talk 16:30, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
