Manning article

[edit]

Are you the Brian Manning mentioned in the article? – S. Rich (talk) 01:46, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your Question

[edit]

Yes, I am the Brian Manning in the article.

There are many incorrect entries in this article which I will attempt to fix. Brian Manning (talk) 16:37, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. I hope you will read the policy and guideline links I posted above. Wikipedia (WP) can be complicated and frustrating, so please take the time to understand what is the best way to make improvements. You will find many editors are willing and available to help you.
A very important part of editing involves the sources of information we use. WP relies on published information from reliable sources. For example, you want to say "Brian met Susan outside a local Woolworths". But what does the source say? Even if Fishman gets it wrong, WP must rely on what he publishes.
As you want to make changes you can let me know what you think is needed. This talkpage in on my "watchlist". So I will see whatever you post. I will try to advise on what works and what doesn't. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 17:08, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fishers source

[edit]

I read the information that Fisher referenced. This article had several totally false statements: Crescent's school is K-12 there is no middle school, there is not a stop sign in Crescent... it is a stop Light, there never was a Hub cafe... it was the City Cafe that the locals gathered in the morning...ect Rhonda Curtis stole $5000 from Susan and my credit cards. Rhonda also changed the mailing address on Susan's bank so Susan would not see her statements. Brian Manning (talk) 19:48, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please understand that Wikipedia editors (which include you) do not "re-write" what the source says. This means that the content we see in Fisher is the content we must use. Even if Fisher is incorrect, what he wrote is what we are stuck with. We do not seek to correct what he wrote by making changes in the article. (Also, please comment about these issues on this page or on the Article talk page. Any comment you leave on my page will be moved or deleted. Thanks.) – S.
