English changes
I understand the wikipedia policy on English usage. If this had been an article about America, I wouldn't have changed it, but surely in an article about a European battle, so-called 'British English' is more appropriate? (Personally I just call it correct English)It doesn't make much sense to me, when writing about Europe to use incorrect spellings that are used in another part of the world. VenomousConcept (talk) 10:39, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Secondly, according to you 'For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.' If you look back through the history, you'll find that it was originally written in 'British English' so I was perfectly justified in changing it. I will revert your changes. Please don't change it again. VenomousConcept (talk) 10:49, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Autopatrol
Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:
- This permission does not give you any special status or authority
- Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
- You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
- If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
- If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Dabomb87 (talk) 17:52, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
Permission
Just a little not, would you be interested in getting the rollback rights. I think your work with vandalism has been beneficial to the community. mauchoeagle (c) 18:35, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Matthew, thanks for asking. The answer is yes; anything to make reverting vandalism easier to do. Thanks for the autopatrolled permission recommendation as well. How are things in my old hometown of Kingston these days? Cheers. BC talk to me 19:34, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Your welcome for the recommendation, but I haven't been on the Queen's university (which I see from your user page you are an alumni of) campus in 3 months, I am currently in the Bahamas on a research trip. I wont be back in Kingston until September 2011. Anyway, I will ask an admin to grant rollback to your account. I just have to verify that you are aware of the rollback policy. mauchoeagle (c) 20:14, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
I have granted rollback to this account per the request on my talk page. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:38, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Vandalism?
Brian, while 81.235.34.83 may be perfectly wrong that about German fighters being based in Norway rather than Finland, it's not at all obvious this is vandalism. Please be careful throwing around that term. --Yaush (talk) 14:24, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, can't agree. I checked his other edit before this edit was reverted, which was deliberate vandalism, so I think we can safely conclude this edit was also vandalism (I agree it wasn't obvious). I also did not say it was definitely vandalism; I said it was probable, and so left room for doubt. Many vandals are sneaky and often try to use, what seems like credible changes to mess up a page (under-the-radar vandalism?). I've reverted a lot of vandalism and know it when I see it. And, please don't lecture me about being careful - I know what I'm doing. Talking about being careful: please leave messages on user talk pages not user pages. Good day. Canadian International Air Show references
Thanks for your help as I am new on here.
I have been working for a while to properly identify this accident and lucked out yesterday afternoon.
I found a cached entry which took me to the AFAC site. Under the pilots name NORRIS, F/L Howard Russell were the details of his death.
(SafetyConcerns (talk) 09:03, 5 September 2011 (UTC))
- No problem. Glad you were able to find those other accidents. You wouldn't happen the URL for the information on the AFAC site? I couldn't find anything there related to the accident. I can include that as a citation for the accident. Also, you put in a link as a citation for the helicopter incident that did not work. You wouldn't happen to have correct link for that? Thanks again for your help fixing up the article. I hope you stay on Wikipedia and contribute more information that may be lacking in other articles. Cheers. Hi Brian, I have had some entries I put in last night removed. I seem to have the system down now. Did you remove them or can you tell me who did and why? (SafetyConcerns (talk) 14:39, 8 September 2011 (UTC))
- An anonymous editor entered entries about air show incidents that had nothing to do with the air show. I therefore removed them. That section is about air show incidents only. A couple of entries dealt with landing problems at Pearson airport, which obviously have nothing to do with the air show. The entries should be notable as well. I did explain why they were removed in the edit summary, which you can see if you go to the edit history. By the way, I added another accident to the 1965 section of List of airshow accidents and incidents, from your (I think) page about aircraft s/n's. Cheers. BC talk to me 15:38, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi Brian, I have followed the suggestions and separated the display accidents from related incidents. I have screwed up the citation to cadors though. Would you correct that for me and I will use it as an example for future entries. Thanks. (SafetyConcerns (talk) 12:09, 15 September 2011 (UTC))
- Done. BTW, I like the idea of separating out the two types of incidents into two sections. BC talk to me 15:56, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Done and done, thanks for the tweak! (SafetyConcerns (talk) 17:24, 15 September 2011 (UTC))
