Your message about being blocked
[edit]Breezybluff2022, hello. In this edit at Wikipedia talk:Edit filter, you stated that you were " blocked in grounds that I was adding myself, family, or friends" to Notable People from Versailles, Kentucky. First, I don't know how you ended up at that project Talk page, so I've continued the discussion here, where it is more appropriate, and you are more likely to get some help. Second, you are not blocked, and your edit at WT:Edit filter is your first edit in the last ten years, therefore there's nothing you could have been blocked for. Third, Versailles, Kentucky does indeed have a section § Notable people, but no one has edited that section since May 2022, and when they did, it was to add the name of boxer Jack Blackburn. Can you elaborate on exactly what your concern is about blocking? Did you edit under another Userid prior to this, and if so, what was it? Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 09:33, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Mathglot: I can answer this question. He tried to make an edit to the page but was prevented by an edit filter; see the log entry. The reason is that, by policy, lists of notable people should only contain people with existing Wikipedia articles, which this person does not. Breezybluff, if you are interested and the person has enough coverage in reliable, independent sources, you can write an article about her yourself; see Help:Your first article for more on that. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 01:27, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
