Speedy deletion of Wear it pink

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Wear it pink, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 10:20, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Breast Cancer Campaign hangon tag

[edit]

You DO actually have to explain WHY we should keep it, you cant just add a tag to stop the page being deleted. Ironholds (talk) 10:28, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the page for reasons of copyright. Block copying of information from other websites is strongly discourage because in most instances it is illegal. There are many article already about breast cancer awareness campaigns. Please see if one of those is a better place to add what you want to say. If you really want to start this page, please do so from scratch or obtain permission from the copyright holder that you may copy it. Mallanox 10:35, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand your reason for doing so. But in this instance I would appreciate it if you reactivated the page for the following reason. I am actually an employee of Breast Cancer Campaign and am responsible for updating the charity's website, www.breastcancercampaign.org. Some information on the Wikipedia page was taken from the Breast Cancer Campaign website, but as I created this information would it not be acceptable to include it?

many thanks Breast Cancer Campaign (talk) 10:38, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Potatoswatter (talk) 09:50, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
