Hello, Brandon Figaro and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Drm310 🍁 (talk) 03:23, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How do I use Wikicoding to cite text? It is not working in my sandbox article draft.

Looking at User:Brandon Figaro/Film criticism, you have successfully created a footnote. Is there something else you wanted to be able to do?
I should point out that the draft appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article so it is unsuitable to submit for review. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 00:53, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How do I cite an Honors' Thesis in my sandbox article draft on Film criticism? Specifically, how would I cite this Honors' Thesis that I have linked after my questions? https://soar.suny.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.12648/6777/honors/32/fulltext%20(1).pdf?sequence=1
Try to use {{Cite thesis}}. Be warned, though, that there have been discussions in the past about whether a thesis can be cited as a reliable source. WP:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 26#Masters Theses
As commonly occurs, the outcome seems to be "it depends" and it also depends on what facts you are using the content of the thesis to support. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:18, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
