A Question
[edit]Given the username you have chosen, and the name of the author of the source you have been citing in your edits to the Texas Jack Vermillion article, I think it is reasonable to ask whether you have any connection to the author? If so, you should probably read the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guidelines, as people might well surmise that the edit was made at least partly with the intention of publicising the book.
You should also note that Wikipedia tends to treat self-published works with a degree of scepticism when assessing whether a work meets Wikipedia:Reliable sources guidelines, and may well reject such sources if evidence cannot be found that the author is a recognised expert in the field, or that the work itself has been reviewed and/or cited in independent reliable sources. This may be rather discouraging for someone who has put a great deal of effort into research on an esoteric subject, and accordingly, I'd recommend not getting your hopes up too much about the changes you have made to the article sticking - at least, not without independent corroborative evidence from further published sources to back it up. - Edit: Never mind - your last post at the Help desk seems an adequately response. We should probably continue the discussion there. AndyTheGrump (talk) 01:41, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- I just went to the "Talk" section of Texas Jack Vermillion and note that Jeff Smith raised the fact that Wikipedia had it all wrong years ago. In fact he did it several times. What a complete joke this format is. Brando1882 (talk) 02:59, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
