Prostitution in Algeria

[edit]

Hello, Prostitution in Algeria is clearly illegal and not legal as outlined in the Algerian Penal Code. The government has imposed strict laws and penalties for those who engage in prostitution, as well as those who facilitate it, such as pimps and clients.

We need to change this misinformation. Thank you Boumbox (talk) 10:46, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at the penal code, as linked above, sections 343-346 are part of Chapter II, Section VII Excitation de mineurs à la débauche et prostitution (Incitement of minors to debauchery and prostitution). It refers to minors (under age 19) not adults. That aside, section 344 does not 'penalize those who engage in prostitution' as stated by the first source above, but increases fines for offences under section 343 where there are aggravating circumstances. --John B123 (talk) 09:06, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
