FYI Aliens
I'm working on a draft of the Aliens article here. If you have any of the books relating to Aliens or any good sources you think might be of use let me know. I've got a good chunk of sources so far, I'm just working on getting a Cinefex magazine because they have ridiculous detail about special effects in them. I'm not doing other Alien-related things, this is just part of a project where I'm working on one of my favorite films from each year from 1980 up, so I won't be doing Alien, and the other films are write offs for me anyway. Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 22:39, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Darkwarriorblake: Super late-- I'm sorry! It looks quite fine so far, though I wouldn't include the two AvP films in the lead. Additionally, it's inaccurate to say that the fifth film is in production, as though the original creators have written a script, it hasn't been officially greenlit by Disney. Otherwise, your draft reads very nicely! On an off-note, would I be able to have an email conversation about some other subject matter that you yourself may be able to help me with? DÅRTHBØTTØ (T•C) 03:20, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- Man you are late, I moved the draft into the mainspace like a week and a half ago. Yeah you can email me that's not a problem. I'mm a bit confused on the fifth sequel, the IndieWire source I used dated November this year says it is in progress per Weaver? I have used the word development though rather than production. Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 10:46, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Darkwarriorblake: I'm sorry - I hope you're not too disappointed in me. I've been going through a rough time on the home front. You actually need to worry about my input on the Alien V front, as the reports do say that Disney is pressing into Sigourney Weaver, which indicates that they're looking to move forward with the film. I'm now sending you my email. DÅRTHBØTTØ (T•C) 20:54, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- Nah I was just letting you know as you're involved in the Aliens articles and thought you might have access to some books I could use. I think I've done a pretty solid job without any books tbh.Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 23:09, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

Appreciate your help
Thanks for your assistance at ANI. Not sure why we're not getting more support on a ban. I think the user's threat of continued disruption is clear. But maybe his relatively low edit count, and tendency to stay in his walled garden of interest, accounts for the lack of general interest in consequences at the moment. Anyway, I'm sure we'll have to indef him from the entire site eventually. He's socked and IP socked in the past to try to evade consequences so, if nothing else, it'll likely happen that way. Thanks again. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 00:00, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- @CorbieVreccan: Thank you for reaching out to me. I wouldn't be worried about the inactivity with the AN/I thread, as I think it isn't being addressed more because it is not only a newer one, but because Sidian Jones is clearly in the wrong, so people may not be as inclined to give a hot take on it. I believe it will be settled with an outcome in line with what we are proposing, as this is an editor who has essentially stated that he will disrupt the page for as long as necessary. DÅRTHBØTTØ (T•C) 01:53, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

- Very annoying when this happens. It rewards exactly these kinds of disruptive users - the kind who push it right to the "legal" limit, then lie low until they figure they've been forgotten. Wash, rinse, repeat. So, we'll just have to deal with it next time he disrupts. It will likely be via socking/LOUTSOCK. At least we have an indef-block to build on now. When he returns, we can ask BK or someone else familiar with the situation to rangeblock/sockblock and get the indef increased to site-wide. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 19:25, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

Kurdish Cinema
Hello:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Kurdish cinema has been completed.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
This very much has the feel of an article "under construction" and as such I simply edited the existing text for grammar etc... I found one citation to replace one form IMDB which is a source to be used only as a last resort. I had a quick look for citations for the two sentences that were tagged "Citation needed" without success.

Hello Botto: Enjoy the holiday season and winter solstice if it's occurring in your area of the world, and thanks for your work to maintain, improve and expand Wikipedia. Cheers, ★Trekker (talk) 18:21, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
- @*Treker: A Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you, as well! Life has been joyous; my wife and I are expecting our first child, a little boy, due in May! BOTTO (T•C) 17:40, 27 December 2021 (UTC)

- @*Treker: I hear you; I felt exactly that same way before I met my wife - with relationships usually lasting up to a month, I felt quite hopeless. But, when you mutually fall, you fall hard and everything else in life just seems to go right. The unfortunate thing is that I've felt less of a draw to Wikipedia, as life has become more hectic, so I have to be careful with free time. I'd say I'm kind of semi-retired from Wikipedia at this point. BOTTO (T•C) 17:10, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

Drive-by howdy
Hi, Botto - I was just updating my UTP and reviewing some of the thoughtful barn stars that I've been humbled and honored to receive over the years. They help keep me focused with positive thoughts, and remind me to take things in stride. I came across one you were kind enough to share on 22 July 2017, and wanted to stop by and see how you're doing. I was also wondering if you've ever considered becoming an admin? Atsme 💬 📧 16:02, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Atsme: Hey there! I remember you fondly, as well - and that barn star was intended to stimulate such positive thoughts, as they have that kind of effect on myself, as well. I have considered becoming an administrator, though it's probably best if I hold off on that prospect for this year. I've been less active over the recent history, as compared to previous times, due to my wife and I expecting a son in May. I suppose my mind hasn't been on the project as much as I should like, though I'm certain it won't be permanent. I'd love to revisit this question in a year's time - and thank you for dropping in on my talk page! :) BOTTO (T•C) 16:48, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
